Re: 2006 FIRST Fantasy Football

FIRST Fantasy Football Plus League

QUARTERFINALS

Cromer Angry Smash (14-0-0) vs.Koko's X-Cats (7-7-0)
Well teh X-Cat got absolutely STOMPED last week and get rewarded by getting the opportunity to get nuked again. Unless Willis McGahee backs up his boast and Steve McNair gets some help they really don't have a chance.

JC's Evil Empire (10-4-0) vs. Stevie's Scapegoats (8-6-0)
The Scapegoats defeated the Evil Empires earlier this season 150.67-140.90, Two aspects of this matchup stick out. WHat Ben Roethlisberger is capable of doing with his injured thumb for the Evil Empire and if Marion Barber and Warrick Dunn can outperform the awesome LaDanian Thomlinson and Domanick Davis.

Beckham Pwns All (8-6-0)vs.Nor Cal Crushers (10-4-0)
Another rematch from last week but this one could go differently. Beckham won becaue Carson Palmer played so poorly and that's not likely to happen two weeks in a row. The Crushers are the highest scoring team in the elague so obviously Beckham needs big weeks from Warner, Barber and Jimmy Smith to come through.

Tomahawks (10-4-0) vs.WBI-461 (10-4-0)
The Tomahawks defeate WBI-461 113.20-98.77 but no team is more concerned about what happend last week than the Tomahawkswho's fortunes ride on the arm of Peyton Manning who could be leaving early due to them clicnching home field. For WBI-461 needs Stepehn Jackson and Greg Jones to step up.

Re: Week XIII Postgame Analysis

The FIRST Robotics League

QUARTERFINALS

Nor Cal Crushers (12-2) vs.IwillCrushYou (7-6-1)
The Crushers and IWill CRushYou did not see each otehr this season.IWillCrushYou is a real danger to any team they play becasue of their three headed monster running game but it reamins to be seen if Moats can repeat last weeks perofmance. The Crushers have Thomlinson and Carnell Willaims performing in big games where their teams fortunes rely on their production so they could be insane as well. Look out for the Crushers Jake Plummer getting to feast on the demoralized Bills.

The Tacoites (9-5) vs.Team THRUST (9-5)
The Tacoites and Team THRUST did not see each other this year. Greg Jones could lay a serious smackdown on teh Niners on behalf of the Tacoites and TOm Brady performs big in big games but Eli Manning will feed on the very weak Chiefs secondary at home.

Rhode Island Voltaic (10-4) vs. Feisty Klowns (8-6)
Voltaic edged the Klowns 64.00 - 63.00 earlier this season. Peyton Mannning may or may not play alot on Sunday and that has to be a concern to the Voltaic while Carson Palmer will want to make up for last weeks dismal performance but the Klowns are also concerned about how much Edgerrin James will play on Sunday as well.

FIRSTforce (10-4) vs. Your Ad Here (8-6)
First FORCE defeted Your Ad Here 88.00-76.00 and alot of Your Ad Here's players are hurting. Look out for Mike Anderson going big on the Bills on national TV on Saturday.

Re: 2006 FIRST Fantasy Football

I got absolutely completely jobbed...worst luck ever (How the heck did IWCY seed that freakin low anyways?)

I would have rather played anyone above him than him. So much for having an advantage by being the #1 seed.

Major props to LT and Caddy for doing nothing

Playoffs: Round I Postgame Analysis

Yep… that went well…

Kamen Bowl Quarterfinals
IwillCrushYou (#8) d. Nor Cal Crushers (#1)
82-64
Interesting point of fact: in the FIRST Robotics Fantasy Football League, the #8 seed has never lost in the first round (Nor Cal should know; they dominated the #1 Cooney Quest in the first round last year). So it was already looking bleak for the Crushers. Making it worse was IWCY’s hot streak that got them in the playoffs in the first place. People like Larry Johnson (20 this week), Hasselbeck (16), Kaeding (14), and Fitzgerald (10) have come through time and time again these past 5 weeks. Nor Cal had three big scores in Steve Smith’s 18, Chicago’s 13, and Plummer’s 12. But unfortunately for them, the rest of the team underperformed (to quote Cory himself, “major props to LT and Caddy for doing nothing”). IWCY used this to continue the tradition of #8s getting into the semifinals.

Kamen Bowl Quarterfinals
The Tacoites (#5) d. Team THRUST (#4)
67-64
This is the type of battle you’d expect from a #4/#5 match. Team THRUST’s game revolved around only one high score (New England pwning Tampa on Saturday giving them 16 points), but the rest of the team giving moderate numbers. Everybody broke 4. Everybody except the QB (the younger Manning). Would that be costly? Well, when you consider that Tom Brady got 16 for the Tacoites in that aforementioned game, you know something’s up. In this case, it’s the way the Tacoites played. They played with more high scorers, but less efficiency from their other players. Their other high scores were Stallworth’s 11, Chad Johnson and Indianapolis’s pair of 10s, and a 9 from the K spot. But then again, nobody else broke 4. In the end though, The Tacoites’ high scores outdid Team THRUST’s efficiency by three points, netting them a place in the semis.

Kamen Bowl Quarterfinals
Feisty Klowns (#6) d. Rhode Island Voltaic (#3)
64-38
The first of two rematches went horribly wrong for the higher seed. Rhode Island’s fate has relied on the Colts’ fate for a good portion of the season. Great when they’re winning thirteen straight. Not so great when they lose. Manning and Wayne only netted 9 points combined, and the rest of Rhode Island didn’t do much either. Their best scores were 8s from a D and K. The Klowns wouldn’t even need Stover’s 12 on Monday, but it looked pretty next to Palmer’s other 12 and four other players clearing 7. Long story short, this one was over quickly for the Voltaic.

Kamen Bowl Quarterfinals
FIRSTforce (#2) d. Your Ad Here (#7)
83-45
And this rematch went exactly as it did the first time. FIRSTforce ganged up early with big scores. The high score was Rudi Johnson’s 17, both Mike Anderson and Carolina put up 16, and David Garrard contributed 10 points. YAH came back with McNair’s 13, Graham’s 11, and… and… absolutely nothing. This is where YAH faltered. They forgot to pack a defense, and they left behind their offensive support. It took four games, but a higher seed is finally victorious.

Playoff Picture: Here's what it'll look like next week.

IwillCrushYou (#8)
vs.
The Tacoites (#5)

Feisty Klowns (#6)
vs.
FIRSTforce (#2)

IWCY/Tacoites should be an exciting game. They never faced during the regular season, and they're both riding five game win streaks. Not sure if the same can be said for the Klowns/Force game. They last faced in Week VII when the Klowns dominated to knock off the last undefeated team, FIRSTforce. But then again, FIRSTforce has done better over the course of the season, and is now the highest seed remaining in the hunt for the championship.

Nor Cal Crushers (#1)
vs.
Team THRUST (#4)

Rhode Island Voltaic (#3)
vs.
Your Ad Here (#7)

Nor Cal and Team THRUST never faced during the regular season. So I've got nothing to say about that one. On the other side though, I can say loads about Rhode Island/YAH, and it'll be unbiased! Rhode Island killed YAH just a few weeks ago in Week XIII (though YAH still got into the playoffs that week), and YAH tends to score low anyways.

But again, nothing in the past matters now (as noted by the fact that three lower seeds advanced this week). Anything can happen (hey, even Indy lost). So what will happen? Tune in next week for the answer.

Re: 2006 FIRST Fantasy Football

FIRST Fantasy Football Plus League

QUARTERFINALS

Cromer Angry Smash (15-0-0) 98.76 Koko's X-Cats (7-8-0) 97.77
Man that was close! What kept the X-Cats so close was Brett Farve's BRUTAL performance on Monday night but fortunately for the Smash two tings went thier way. 1. They won the rcieving matchup 33.43 to 14.84 and 2. Paul Edinger scored a -.5 to Jeff Wilkins 2 points enabling the Smash to escape.

Stevie's Scapegoats (9-6-0) 93.80JC's Evil Empire (10-5-0) 90.76
The Scapegoats defeated the Evil Empires earlier this season 150.67-140.90, Two aspects of this matchup stick out. WHat Ben Roethlisberger is capable of doing with his injured thumb for the Evil Empire and if Marion Barber and Warrick Dunn can outperform the awesome LaDanian Thomlinson and Domanick Davis.
Well the running game matchup was basically even but Jake Dlehome outperformed Ben Roethlisberger 21.50 to 16.43. And therin lies the difference.

Nor Cal Crushers (11-4-0) 178.18Beckham Pwns All (8-7-0)149.66
Another rematch from last week but this one could go differently. Beckham won becaue Carson Palmer played so poorly and that's not likely to happen two weeks in a row. The Crushers are the highest scoring team in the elague so obviously Beckham needs big weeks from Warner, Barber and Jimmy Smith to come through.
Beckham went big again but unfortunately Kurt Warner's season ending injury ended any hopes for an upset. If he had stayed on the field who knows what would have happend.

WBI-461 (11-4-0) 117.87Tomahawks (10-5-0) 94.67
The Tomahawks defeated WBI-461 113.20-98.77 but no team is more concerned about what happend last week than the Tomahawks who's fortunes ride on the arm of Peyton Manning who could be leaving early due to them clicnching home field. For WBI-461 needs Stepehn Jackson and Greg Jones to step up.
Well Manning played a full game after all. He just didn't play very well and that opened the door for WBI-461 who got good production from Garrand and Anquaan Bolding to lead his team into the semi-finals.

SEMI-FINALS

Cromer Angry Smash (15-0-0) vs. WBI-461 (11-4-0)
The Smash defeated WBI-461 111.91 - 105.51 and in order to continue that success need more out of BRett Farve than interceptions and more out of Edgerrin James than just 25 yards. If Stepehn Jackson or Ryan Moats go off WBI-461 may be able to pull off the upset.

Nor Cal Crushers (11-4-0) vs.Stevie's Scapegoats (9-6-0)
The Scapegoats defeated the Crushers 132.79 - 108.70 earlier this season. The Crushers lowest point total of the season. Becaue they cannot rely on that happening again the Scapegoats need Jake Delhome to play absolutely out of his mind even more so today because the Crushers Carson Palmer is feasting on the demoralized Bills defense. Somehow Warrick Dunn nd Jerome Bettis must match Larry Johnson (who faces a very tough Chargers run defense) and Shaun Alexander (who may get the day off).

Playoffs: Round III Postgame Analysis

Coco Koko Bowl Qualification
Team THRUST (#4) d. Nor Cal Crushers (#1)
85-80
I should start with how awesome Nor Cal looked over the weekend. Especially with Terrence McGee taking 30. Chicago’s 14 and Jeremiah Trotter’s 9 would bring the defensive grand total to an unheard of 53 points. Add the Cadillac’s 13 and Plummer’s 8, and the game would be over. I mean, all Team THRUST could muster up was twin 14s from Torry Holt and Ricky Williams plus a 9 from Elam. But, I suppose that’s why they play on Monday: to make fantasy football more exciting (seriously, I can’t think of any other reason). Team THRUST got two huge scores from that game. It was New England’s 11 and Jonathan Vilma’s 14 that would plop them into the Coco Koko Bowl.

Coco Koko Bowl Qualification
Rhode Island Voltaic (#3) d. Your Ad Here (#7)
72-48
This is a game that was probably better fought on the bench. For instance, the usually reliable Peyton Manning didn’t do anything for Rhode Island; they’d have been better off playing Chris Simms with his 8. And imagine the look on the face of YAH when they discover Julius Jones scored 21 from the bench. Oh, and there was McNair’s -4 in the QB spot; YAH would have been better off playing the benched Kyle Orton. Back to the actual game though, and it was all Santana Moss for the Voltaic, scoring 26. A defensive 23 finished the job, giving Rhode Island the win.

Kamen Bowl Semifinals
IwillCrushYou (#8) d. The Tacoites (#5)
93-52
Wow… this wasn’t even close. The Tacoites had a sub par week to begin with, with only a 15 from Briggs, Chad Johnson’s gift of an 11, and Brady’s 9 being the only things of note from them. The only things of note from IWCY were a 20 from Larry Johnson, 18 from Vrabel, Portis’s 15, three 10s from Detroit, Fitzgerald, & Hasselbeck, and a 9 from Darren Sharper. ::catches breath:: Okay, perhaps using the word “only” was misleading. IWCY easily secures themselves a spot in the championship game.

Kamen Bowl Semifinals
FIRSTforce (#2) d. Feisty Klowns (#6)
71-50
There was some form of falter from both teams in this one. For the Klowns, only half the offense really played. A combined 30 came from the other half though (Stover, Toomer, & Palmer), so it wasn’t all bad. Unfortunately, the defense also wasn’t there. For FIRSTforce, their offense was slightly worse than the Klowns’ (the same thing with half not really playing; only a combined 27 from Garrard, Anderson, & Rackers), but their defense was excellent. Carolina and Brooking both put up 14s (and lets give props Bulluck’s 7), making this the difference in FIRSTforce’s victory.

Playoff Picture: Here comes Bowl Week!

Dunedain Bowl
Nor Cal Crushers (#1) vs. Your Ad Here (#7)
Another opponent who YAH just recently lost to (they lost by 11 to Nor Cal in Week XIV). YAH lost to both FIRSTforce and Rhode Island in the regular season, and then lost to them in the post season. Will the correlation hold?

Coco Koko Bowl
Team THRUST (#4) vs. Rhode Island Voltaic (#3)
Two teams who haven't faced yet. Rhode Island had a slight slump coming into the playoffs, but has wound up in this game. Team THRUST's only slump came midseason. Can they hold on long enough to take a bowl game?

Valley Bowl
The Tacoites (#5) vs. Feisty Klowns (#6)
The Tacoites won this one earlier against the Klowns in Week XII during their big second-half hot streak. Also, the Klowns have been pretty hit-or-miss the second half. Will they hit or miss this time?

Kamen Bowl
IwillCrushYou (#8) vs. FIRSTforce (#2)
This is the game everybody strives to be in at the beginning of the season. Of course, only two can make it. And these are the two. IWCY hasn't lost since Week X, and FIRSTforce was among their late-season victims. So it's simple: can IWCY finish their streak for the championship, or will FIRSTforce snap it for the title?

I'll be back next week for the final analysis.

FIRST Fantasy Football Plus League

SEMI-FINALS

Cromer Angry Smash (16-0-0) 147.14 WBI-461 (11-5-0)112.90
The Smash defeated WBI-461 111.91 - 105.51 and in order to continue that success need more out of BRett Farve than interceptions and more out of Edgerrin James than just 25 yards. If Stepehn Jackson or Ryan Moats go off WBI-461 may be able to pull off the upset.
Well Moats and Jackson didn't come through and niether did WBI-461. All it took was the Smashs recivers outscoring WBI-461's recivers 67.3 to 32.36 to ice that game.

Nor Cal Crushers (12-4-0) 199.64Stevie's Scapegoats (9-7-0)102.10
The Scapegoats defeated the Crushers 132.79 - 108.70 earlier this season. The Crushers lowest point total of the season. Becaue they cannot rely on that happening again the Scapegoats need Jake Delhome to play absolutely out of his mind even more so today because the Crushers Carson Palmer is feasting on the demoralized Bills defense. Somehow Warrick Dunn nd Jerome Bettis must match Larry Johnson (who faces a very tough Chargers run defense) and Shaun Alexander (who may get the day off).
Wow. That that wasn't even close.
6 players score over 20 points to the Scapegoats 1 player doing so.
It's that easy.

FINALS

Cromer Angry Smash (16-0-0) vs. Nor Cal Crushers (12-4-0)
Previous matchup
The Smash defeated the Crushers 143.04 - 137.29 in week 5.
QB
Brett Farve vs. Carson Palmer
Well because Palmer and the Bengals choked against the Bills last week they need to step up and play hard against the Chiefs who couldn't cover a bed with a sheet. Bad news for the Smash who are saddled with a Brett Farve who looks like he's totally lost it.
Advantage Nor Cal Crushers

RB
Edgerrin James, Michael Bennet vs. Shaun Alexander, Larry Johnson
Not sure if Alexander will play on Sunday but I'm sure Larry Johnson will get alot of playing time against the Bengals who are lax against the run and Johnson has been very hot. James may or may not play much at all and Bennet has to share carries for the Vikings.
Advantage Nor Cal Crushers

WR/TE
Larry Fitzgerald, Laveranues Coles, Santana Moss and Jeremy Shockey vs. Steve Smith, Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce and Randy McMichael
Well the first problem for the Smash is Jeremy Shockey is out. So Fitzgerald, Coles and Moss to step up and they just may. Smith has been huge this year and Holt is one of the best recievers in the league but Bruce is comming to the end of his dis tinguished career and McMicheal i splaying in the New England snow. Not Miami's best element.
Advantage Cromer Angry Smash
K
Jeff Wilkins vs. Nate Kaeding
Both kickers have potent offenses at their disposal but Kaeding may have it a bit easier with Denver taking it easy while Dallas is battling for their playoff lives and can control the ball.
Advantage Nor Cal Crushers
D
Jacksonville Jaguars, London Fletcher , Adrian Wilson and Mike Peterson vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
, Zach Thomas, Ronde Barber and Donnie Edwards

The Jags defense is tough and are playing a young team in the Titans while the Steelers are facing one of the most incompitent teams in the NFL the Detriot Lions. Fletcher and Peterson are tackling machines as is Thomas. Barber and Edwards could end up making a game changing play on defense that could take the Crushers over the top.
Advantage Nor Cal Crushers

Final Analysis
The Smash have the best record in the league but they may have too many shortcommihngs to beat the very tough Crushers who would have to have alot of players come up short to lose.

So you replaced James and Bennet with Alscott and Pittman.
I can tell you from personal experience that you will get nothing much from Pittman (he burned me alot this year in the other league) and unless Tampa gets alot of 1 yard out attempts you won't be getting much from Alscott either. You are screwed no matter what.

I can tell you from personal experience that you will get nothing much from Pittman (he burned me alot this year in the other league) and unless Tampa gets alot of 1 yard out attempts you won't be getting much from Alscott either. You are screwed no matter what.
oh, i know im screwed in the RB position. but i have made a few more changes and still will make some if i wake up early enough tomorrow. i doubt it though.

Re: 2006 FIRST Fantasy Football

Im not done with my lineup either.

I may bench Carson. So far I haven't been able to find a reliable report of whether or not he'll be playing, and if so, how much.

I debated benching Shaun, but he'll probably pick up at least 75 yards and a TD.
