Will there be a game hint? Advance materials list?

I seem to remember that the official hint has been released much earlier in previous years. Do you think maybie we won't be getting one this year? I have only been in FIRST 4 years. Has there ever been a year without one? Also has there always been an advanced matierials list?

If I remember right, the hint tends to come in the final week of the year.

Don't know if there is an Advance Material list every year, but last year, it came out 3 days before kickoff.

There has not always been an advanced bill of materials for the field. I think the first year for that was Zone Zeal in 2002. The toilet flange was the real stumper...

WHO CARES! Man FIRST is not based on who knows the game first. I like to keep it traditional and find out the day of the kickoff. So I accually have a challenge rather than cheating and knowing the game before hand.

All the teams have the same opportunity to try to figure it out. No one has figured out the exact game from the official hint to my knowledge, just some theories as to what the game could involve, and FIRST keeps the hint so devious that there are multiple ways to interpret it. Half the fun is the anticipation of finding yourself humiliated by missing something simple in the hint.

Last year the clue was released on December 30th. I kicked of the clue guessing game here.

The advance BOM is much more interesting, and actually telling.

Assuming they release it, it should be soon, or a few days before kickoff. It probably won't be complete, but you should get whatever is on it and is not extremely common. Hard-to-find stuff on it should be bought/ordered immediately, otherwise you get shortages and you get your component about three weeks into build or something. If everything is common, they probably won't release it.
