Re: You know you've been in FIRST too long...

When you can make a list long enough to fill six pages and still have more to say....

When in conversation with friends you use robotics termanology....

When your team keeps a list of funny quotes....

When you check the delphi forums and your own teams daily.....

When you read a list like this and sit there smiling knowing that it applies to you...

I know the feeling...though some of the ties are rather "loud."

... when your fantasy of a romantic Valentine's Day evening is an all-night build session in the shop.

... when choosing between having your birthday party or another build session, you make the right choice and bring a FIRST themed cake, ice cream and pizza.

... when your grades take a hit between time in FIRST and a state-champion marching band.

... when the phrase "inhale audibly" is in your regular vocabulary.

Re: You know you've been in FIRST too long...

...when there are six threads and over 110 posts discussing the game clue within 10 hours of the clue being relesed - and it is one day before Christmas when you all should be focusing on the fact that you are out of school for the holidays, you get some time off work, you can spend time with family, and there is all that shopping to be done!

Geez, some people need to get a life. Like, what are you doing right now - you are reading this. It is Christmas Eve, for goodness sake! Stop reading CD and go see your family! Get away from the computer and go outside and play! You are still reading this - stop it! I can see you, you aren't fooling anyone. Stop right now, and turn off the computer. Quit reading, dang it! There, that's bette... <click>

-dave (grumbling as he goes back to working on a FIRST-related animation that he will still be doing very, very late tonight as Santa squeezes down the chimney, hopefully bringing Dave's shiny new Shelby GT500KR...)

When you are in a chat we 19 other FIRSTers dicussing the clue and some how it turns into a planning of the game wich involes Drivers eating, not touch the contorls, robots making noodles , human players setting up blast sheilds and food fights having multipliers.
