All those HOF teams worked hard to eran their right to be there and while a robot is a tangeble object that is easy to assess it's value . The Chairman's award requires alot of work and effort of these teams and actually you can see over the years when they become CHairman worthy teams (Like 118 the odds on favorites this year, 341 and 79) I heavily reccomend going to the HOF at the Championship and check out what these teams do for the FIRST community and you'd be impressed with the amount of work these guys do off the field as they do on the field. |

Re: 2006 Pre-Kickoff FF -- IT'S ON!
When HOT was announced as the winner last year the announcer said they had a $20,000 self-supporting Engineering Outreach program (at least I'm pretty sure that's what the announcer said). Now if that isn't dedication, what is?
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to get back to my evil plan of waiting to draft two certain teams who have somehow managed to slip through the draft process to the third (and hopefully fourth) rounds. ![]() Last edited by Ian Curtis : 22-12-2005 at 17:41. |

On a side note, is anyone opposed to adding a 45-point category for Chairman's Honorable Mentions? (That would put it on par with winning EI at the Championship.) Last edited by Billfred : 22-12-2005 at 17:41. |

Re: 2006 Pre-Kickoff FF -- IT'S ON!
I dont know really, 45 points sounds a bit high, but i also think the Chairmans and awards points are already too high. I'm not sure what scores i would propose instead, but i just want to make sure that no one will get lucky like elgin did last year(no offence elgin) and have the game completely dominated by one team. Yes I know if could be because the person drafted well...but i dont know, i think the awards are scored to highly as of now.

Re: 2006 Pre-Kickoff FF -- IT'S ON!
Looking back at the scores, 80 points does seem a bit steep in relation to every other scoring category out there (world champions get 35).
So how about this: Champions: 35 points Chairman's HM: 45 points EI: 45 points Chairman's: 55 points Still a big amount of points, and well worth one's while, but it's not utterly dominating. And Conor is still up. Last edited by Billfred : 22-12-2005 at 19:20. |

Re: 2006 Pre-Kickoff FF -- IT'S ON!
I would argue it should be utterly dominating. The winning team is the pinnacle of FIRST. (Also, remember the score will be brought down becuase it is an average of all events they attend, and they'll be attending at least 2.)

Like a fool, I missed Conor's pick (103) in all the discussion.
After much deliberation, I'm going to pick the Burning Magnetos, team 342. And the rest of the night's schedule: 8:50: Dan Swando
9:00: coastertux
9:10: Jeff Rodriguez
9:20: iCurtis
9:30: Dez
9:40: Big Mike
9:50: Steve Howland
10:10: Koko Ed
10:20: Ted Boucher (Twice)
-Start Round Four-
10:30: Koko Ed
10:40: Steve Howland
10:50: Big Mike
11:00: Dez
11:10: iCurtis
Last edited by Billfred : 22-12-2005 at 20:56. |

Done. iCurtis is up now. (Marc P. and Jeff can draft whenever they get on.)
And remember, everyone from Curtis onward tonight will be drafting twice (although for everyone but Ted, at separate times.) So stick around. ![]() Update: Curtis listifies 40. Dez is up. Last edited by Billfred : 22-12-2005 at 21:28. |
