And, of course, the rule only applies to a robot that will be used in a FIRST competition. Nobody can penalize you for putting those wheels on a non-competition 'bot if you want to make something to play around and practice with.

OK, here's the "new" situation. FIRST has discussed the matter and the decision is that I can't sell the wheels this year (not enough supply). So, here's my offer.

I will gladly donate a set of wheels (4 plus a spare) to the first 10 teams that request it. No charge, but you pay the freight. In effect I'll be a sponsor to your team.

Don't ask for them unless you're serious about using them. Yes, you can modify them in any way you desire, such as to change the bore, get rid of weight, etc.

Contact me via email at Neil@vectorr.com

My gift to FIRST.

Re: Mecanum Wheels

What a great offer, Neil!

I hope we will be seeing your wheels on some FRC robots this year, and even more next year.

I believe in intuition and inspiration. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research.
