$65 (65! Haa Haa! I thought that was pretty cool!) in Radio Shack Gift Cards from my relatives. Guess what I'm gonna buy with them!!!
Hint: they have to do with a thing that starts with a V.

Merry Christmas everybody!!!

Variable resistance something or other??

Anyways, not a lot of mine were robotics related, except two movies from my Grandmother..

I, Robot, and Robots.

I think there was a theme there.

Just watched the movie Robots, with the clue dancing around in the back of my head, and boy oh boy do I have even more leads.

Darn generic clues.

Re: Christmas presents? Robotics related?

Yay for Hanukkah!

I was in Hawaii. However, I'll be getting some nifty stuff soon related to robotics tonight (I think) so I'll edit or something.

I got cash. Yay for shirt trading! And chocolate, because I wasn't energetic enough at all before. Right? Right?!

No official botics stuff though.

Re: Christmas presents? Robotics related?

I received only a number of things that will distract from robotics -- a good thing altogether, really, as I spend too much time thinking about this stuff anyway.
  • Xbox 360
  • Perfect Dark Zero
  • Call of Duty 2
  • Project Gotham Racing 3
  • Kodak EasyShare C340 Camera and Printer Dock
  • Mean Girls
  • The Village
  • The Day After Tomorrow
  • The West Wing - Season 5
  • Best Buy gift cards for HDTV or router; not sure yet.

I did buy my brother some accessories for his Vex kit -- gears, sprockets and chain, and tank treads.

Re: Christmas presents? Robotics related?

All my presents were FIRST related! I got Dremel accessories, a Cold Heat solder iron, four books on robotics (by the way I highly recommend the Robot Builder's Sourcebook absolutely amazing!) and a MIG welder. Overall a good haul.

Re: Christmas presents? Robotics related?

Does a present or two from robotics related people count as robotics related? About a week before Christmas I got a telephone call from a sort of familiar, robotics related voice and the conversation went like this:

Me: "Hello?"
She:"If you were going to kill someone, would you use an ax or a crowbar?"
Me: "Hmmm... an ax, I think, it would probably be quicker."
She: "Okay, thanks." <click>
Me: <shrugged shoulders and hung up phone>

A couple of days after Christmas, 5 former students showed up at my door and presented me with an ax with a Christmas bow on it. Oh well, at least I did get some normal gifts too, like bath-beads-confetti-salt-bubble stuff, ink for my photo-printer, the Decemberists latest CD, Hair on DVD, Fame, the movie on DVD along with the first season of the Fame television show on DVD, some books for my history class, some money for school, a slip and slide for my crocodiles (the crocs thank you, Wetzel!), the world... well, just a tiny copy of it, a donation of school supplies to Amazon Peruvian school children made in my name, a giant hedgehog chair-thingy, and lots of other stuff.
