![]() My main task to complete before the kickoff is to get together a prototyping kit for our team. Stuff like foamboard, straws, hot glue, tape, etc. And also brainstorming materials like paper and pencils, calculators and graph paper. This way, we will be able to make little models of the game elements and possible robot designs, and sketch out different concepts (and of course, one of our mentors always brings legos, so those help too. )I'm pulling my hair out trying not to forget anything. Last year we all forgot calculators. One of our mentors had a calculator on his watch, so I spent the whole ride from our remote kickoff to our school (for the brainstorming session) with an itsy-bitsy calculator and some scrap paper trying to to calculate the height of a tetra in a moving vehicle. Never again. |

Re: So close to Kickoff - what do you still have to do?
Well, I picked up my new printer today, and I think this weekend it will be broken in very nicely printing the manual.
If not, I saved the receipt. Now, all I have to do is: *Get Oil Changed on Car (Many commuting miles to be put on soon due to work/FIRST *Pick up soda for our Kickoff on Sunday *Test taping things on Dad's DishTV for pre-kickoff preparedness. *Let my Dad know I"m stealing his tv for a couple hours. *Pre-Kickoff DDR Tourny on Friday night to chill out before build. There is probably more, but I forget. All in due time. |

Re: So close to Kickoff - what do you still have to do?
Getting trans leak in my truck fixed tomorrow. Getting tires rotated next week I guess. Still have to buff out some scratches and give it a good wash and waxing. Still have to put a new battery in the 65 VW bug. And sometime over the course of this year I need to build my custom 1/6th scale RC Ford Ranger, and get back into flying my RC helicopter.

Re: So close to Kickoff - what do you still have to do?
* Find a (definite) place to build our robot ...
* Figure out a place to meet during week 1 of the build ... * Confirm that our second regional has been paid for ... * De-stress, de-stress, de-stress!! Last edited by Katie Reynolds : 06-01-2006 at 01:45. |
