At the bottom of the webpage is a link to "Archive" http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/archive/index.php, and that is essentially what you are talking about. Just a bare display of all the messages in linear order, no signature, no avatars, no images at all.
That archive page shows all the current discussions and messages, with the most recent ones at the bottom instead of the top. The only down side is, there are no reply button in there. The up side is, those of us who just want to read the forum can go in there and ready it easily.
