Cool Poof Slinky Balls (Canada)

For Canadian teams,

If you are having trouble acquiring the Poof Slinky balls that are being used in the 2006 competition, Team 610 in conjunction with Mr. Kamal Shah has ordered a large quantity of balls directly from Poof Slinky.

If you would like to order them from us, please contact Mr. Kamal Shah directly (905-201-7115).

All profits made are being donated directly to the teams that have been affected by Hurricane Katrina; we are not making any money.

All the best,

Jay Shah

Re: Poof Slinky Balls (Canada)

Getting together with other teams to order Poof-Slinky 7" basketballs is a good idea.

Just got off the phone with their factory in Michigan

1) Orders MUST be in case-quantities of 12
2) Unit price is US$4.00 plus shipping (they do take credit cards)
3) FedEx seems to be their preferred US shipper; don't know about outside U.S.
4) They are "scrambling" to produce more inventory as US FIRST didn't give them advance warning that over 1,000 high schools would be descending on them to order this week.
5) Smaller orders can be done via their web site

Therefore, be patient with the company.......

hey folks at FIRST......any way to help facilitate purchase and shipments for teams outside the U.S?

Everyone please hold on for more info regarding the Poof/Slinky ball availability to be released in the next 24 hours. Hopefully, some good news is coming.

p.s. FIRST did indeed notify the manufacturer to expect a massive influx of orders in the beginning of January. Their response was "OK, sure." Then 800 orders arrived over this past weekend...

Re: Poof Slinky Balls (Canada)

Hey Dave,

Way cool! I didn't mean to imply that FIRST never notified the company prior to the kickoff. The woman I spoke with on the phone told me that "she" was unaware of the pending big orders....I'm sure that the FIRST game design team did give the company a "heads up" somewhere along the line.

It will be great if you guys at FIRST can assist the foreign teams especially to get this needed part.

Re: Poof Slinky Balls (Canada)

I called the people yesterday morning and we had no problems with placing the order. You need to ask for the person that is taking the FIRST orders. She said that she was aware that these would be coming in. BTW the web price is $8.95 plus S&H. The minimum order from the company, I was told, for the bulk balls at $4.00 is $200.00 plus S&H.

Re: Poof Slinky Balls (Canada)

Hey Guys,

We still have plenty balls to sell (see post #1). Proceeds go to Katrina affected teams, we are in Toronto, so if your in the area you can get them quick.
