If we're talking speed vs torque, I would normally side with the torque. The robot is easier to control and you win pushing battles.
In this game though, there is a rather large unobstructed field. If you have the speed, you can outrun the heavier, pushing robots. This year I think our team is going to try putting some transmissions in to get the best of both speed and torque. This may be a bad idea, but I think we may be able to pull it off. Even if we are a rookie team... |
