CIM motor components

For our drive train transmition, we are building the transmition boxes as shown in the instructions. Unfortunatelly, the instructions we are using requires the full 4 CIM motors. Since the kit only comes with two CIMs, we need to purchase two more. We know where to get the two extra CIMs, but the supplier only sells the CIMS (without the required key and sprocket). Does anyone know where we could purchase these necessary compnents?

Did you guys compete last year and recieve the kop transmission? You are allowed to use those old CIM motors if you guys have them (those old gearboxes have the same keyway). Did you mean "without key and the gear?" You do have the option to make the key yourself. You can also talk to the teams around you and see if they will help you out making it or donating the ones they have. Good luck.

If you read through the full transmission manual located at http://www.ifirobotics.com/docs/2006...nual-rev-d.pdf, there are instructions starting on page 31 for assembling it using only one motor per transmission. You will need four 1/4"-20 x 3/8" cap screws, four 1/4" washers, and four 1/4"-20 nuts in addition to what is supplied in the kit.

Re: CIM motor components

Natalia,

If you look at the drawing on page 5-2 in the 2006 manual, it is the drawing for the FRC-2005-111-007. This is the gear used for the CIM motor.

On the drawing it gives the part number and alternate sources for the gear. Last year, the kit gear was a Martin Gear.

I have attached my original drawing, but suggest you double check with this year's transmission manual.

-Paul
