Software to make form fields in a PDF
Is there any free software that will make fillable form fields in a PDF document? So when you open the PDF in Acrobat reader, you will be able to type in those fields. Thanks.

Re: Software to make form fields in a PDF
I'm gonna say no.
One of the main reasons for a PDF is so that no info can be changed or altered in any way. You can copy out of it, but you can't write to it without permission. Kind of like a CD-R. |

Re: Software to make form fields in a PDF
That's not quite true Elgin. The full version of adobe acrobat supports the creation of form fields which can be filled out in acrobat reader (and also allows you to edit most existing documents, including the FIRST rulebook, for adding in rule updates). The forms can even do simple math, feature drop down boxes, and have most of the features you'd find in an HTML form. You can see an example of such a PDF document here.
That said, I don't believe there is any free software that can create forms (although there is pay software out there that can do it and costs less than Acrobat). Last edited by ahecht : 16-01-2006 at 18:54. |

Re: Software to make form fields in a PDF
I'd suggest getting Adobe Professional from Academic Superstore (http://www.academicsuperstore.com/ ). I've used them a number of times in the past, once to actually purcahse Adobe Professional. Great company to deal with
