Re: Speed vs. Power

This is really a game which demands the best of both worlds that is why our team is going with a 2 speed gearbox.

Speed is going to be very important for many shooting robots which cannot herd/pick balls off field, because they have to travel 50+ feet to reload on balls. If you are an offensive robot it is very important.

While at the same time torque (power) is going to be very important for both offense and defense. You want to have sufficient torque be able to push other robot around during your defensive period and defend against defending robots while on offense. Having a drive system with the best of both will be a large advantage in this years game.
