Re: Robot songs

Power Tools - Planet P

hey, electricity
don't pull the plug, shut down on me
I'm bringin' the new technology
and it's crazy
everywhere machinery
tools keep me company
I talk to the scenery
it talks back to me
power tools to make life easy
power tools to make life fun
where I'm goin' I'm like a king
they're watchin' the skies wonderin' what I'll bring
I got 'em all believin' they need these things
and it's crazy
power tools to make life easy
power tools to make life fun
where I'm goin' I'm like a king
they're watchin' the skies wonderin' what I'll bring
I got 'em all believin' they need these things
and it's crazy
they think it's magic don't wanna know
what makes it work, what makes it go
I give 'em Gomer Pyle on the video
they go crazy
power tools make life easy
power tools make life fun
I'm never gonna shut it down
they're never gonna shut me down
no, no, I'm bringin' power tools
to make life easy
power tools to make life fun

Re: Robot songs

the other TMBG song I was thinking of is "Become a Robot"

and these could be robot/FIRST songs:

She's Actual Size
My Evil Twin
We're the Replacements (for the backup drive team, or the second robot)
AKA Driver

and Ive always wanted to hear "Why does the sun shine" played at events :^)

in fact, now that I think about it, TMBG would be a great band to play live at an event party. (hint hint hint)

Re: Robot songs

One of my friends tipped me off to "Girls Love Robots" by Pollen. It is a constant on my playlist during build season. I don't know about you guys, but I would totally dance Ally Sheedy-style with Wildstang 2002. Anyway, here's the lyrics:

followed the directive, all I found was obsolescence
flesh and bone will fade like any other
manufacturer malpractice given hearts and ammunition
you can't promise me you'll always love me, there's no program
it's so much more efficient - find a defect, replace it
and I covet the freedom to have a thousand volts just flow through capillaries of copper

number five is alive
its the perfect reply
the demand's been supplied
number five is alive

the olfactory sensor's overloaded, the circuit boards are jammed with romance
everybody knows that girls love robots
photoelectric eye can see its been programmed with loyalty
when it gets weary we'll install another, it's so simple
when human beings break, there's no clear process for repairment
no easy way to fix it
I can't depend on conduct, not commanded by coding

number five is alive
It's the perfect reply
the demand's been supplied
number five is...

when you buy your replacement parts
please be certain that they're only acme brand replacement robot parts
they were the first and they're still the best
so you can be positive nothing will go wrong today
no need for the service call on Saturday
yes, you can be positive nothing will go wrong today
no need for the service call on Saturday

She Blinded me with science - Thomas

(Thomas has a last name, but I forgot what it was. It's the song they play during the MythBuster's credits)

Re: Robot songs

I Am Your Robot by Elton John. Pretty cheesy.
Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Part 1 by The Flaming Lips. Absolutely the funniest robot song, especially with the line: "Oh Yoshimi, they don't believe me but you won't let those robots eat me"
And of course, Robots for Ronnie by Crack the Sky.
