Problematic 2004 RC behavior

Hey guys,

I've got a 2004 RC and OI that I'm using for testing and I'm having some serious problems with it - figured maybe you'd had similar issues and might know what to do about it. Anyway, the RC/OI worked fine until I handed it to a couple freshmen who immediately downloaded some 2006 code to it with the new IFI Loader before realizing they weren't supposed to do that. Of course at that point nothing worked any more, and I was getting some pretty odd binary data streaming out of the program port that couldn't be good. I tried downloading 2004 AND 2005 default code to the 2004 controller and while I now get what appears to be "good" output from the program port the communications from the OI to the RC don't work (the RC isn't transmitting via modem nor tether), and it doesn't seem to recognize a good backup battery (the "hardware" light doesn't come on like it use to do). Also when I press the "reset" button or disconnect power from the controller for a brief amount of time, the program light on the controller immediately turns orange/yellow without pressing the program button. Anyone have any idea what's wrong? Has anyone tried uploading 2004 code to a 2004 controller using the current IFI Loader?

Thanks!
-Danny

Danny,

The master processor may be fragged and may need to be re-flashed. Use this code to do it: http://www.ifirobotics.com/docs/mast...ware-ver11.zip.
