Question Anyone Else Having Problems with Q&A on FIRST?

Is anyone else having problems with getting a question posted on the Q&A FIRST site?

Yes, I am logging in with the "special" login and pwd supplied by FIRST and am the "Rules Guru" for my team. The system indicates that I am allowed to submit, post, and edit questions. Also, the system says my login id (FRC1777) has posted 5 posts, but none appear.

I emailed the address supplied on the site if there were problems, and they referred me to a FRCTEAM e-address. Have had no response (or posts appearing) in the last 24hrs. My first attempt to post a message was this past weekend.

Am I the only one having problems? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

WW.

Because of the possibility for spam or other issues, Your question(s) will not appear public until "OK'ed" by FIRST.

Re: Anyone Else Having Problems with Q&A on FIRST?

My posts have not appeared for 5 or 6 days at a time. I think that maybe they are waithing to post some of the questions until they have the answer.
Also the emails they sent out in mid January had eronious passwords and usernames. You have to go to your FIRST registration account and get your username and password there.

all questions go into a moderated queue for the GDC to review and respond to ... questions will not appear until validated by a moderator from the GDC

Not to disagree or start an arguement, but my experience has not reflected this.

I submitted a question last week and it showed up immediately. A few hours later I saw my question posted as well as a similiar question from another team. Both had no responses.

A day later, they both were still there (further down the list), still with no replies.

Two days later, both questions were gone. I thought that they were hidden until answered.

Yesterday, I still did not see an answer and posted another question stating that the two questions seem to have disappeared and I just didn't want there to be a glitch and have them be gone forever since we were waiting for an answer.

Then, a couple of hours later, one of the questions was answered which answered our question...but it still seems like it is finicky or something...

Re: Anyone Else Having Problems with Q&A on FIRST?

This is the same system (with minor differences) used for the FIRST Vex Challenge Q&A which I have helped with.

Several moderators have access to the moderated queue. Some questions will be posted more quckly than others depending on when a GDC moderator accesses them.

Time delay may also occur if the question is hard to answer and requires a discussion by the GDC members. In this scenario it would be possible that the question would be posted without an answer in order to avoid duplicate questions.

Duplicate questions will also "disappear" to the public from time to time, so that there isn't redundancy in the reading on the team end.

Mind you, all of this work is done manually by the moderators which is an enormous task, but rest assured you will get answers to your questions.
