Question ball penalties?

Will there be any penalties for ruining the ball while using our launching mechanism during competition?

5 pts per occurance

the launcher is not supposed to tear up the ball as they leave... you are not supposed to ruin the ball at all but i think that if you run it over it will be a involuntary action against the ball and you will not be penalized for it

Re: ball penalties?

And, furthermore...

Quote:
<G20> Field Damage - The head referee may disable a ROBOT that has damaged the playing field, carpet, goals,
etc. if the head referee feels that further damage is likely to occur. The head referee may require
corrective action, such as eliminating a sharp edge, before the ROBOT will be allowed to compete in
subsequent matches.
I'm not the GDC, but wouldn't balls be considered part of the field?

Either way--damaging balls is not fair game.
