Go to Post I am surprised at the relative conservative capability you described on our 2006 machine. As for the 2007 machine, in anticipation of an aquatic game, we have completed a robot that "walks on water" and are well along with one that can "part the sea". - Bill Beatty [more]

Re: Need Help Finding Servos

I made a brief mention of this during a discussion with robot inspectors last year (was it a teleconference?); the HS-322HD (found in the last two kits), is the correct servo to be using. The number 33322S is the stock number of this servo (when using the Hitec/JR connector, which fits the robot controller)—maybe that's where the "S" comes from. FIRST never did get around to fixing the documentation last year, or this year, it seems.

Notify FIRST through the Q&A, with the relevant links to Hitec's page, showing the correct information. (Here, here and here.)

Re: Need Help Finding Servos

I went through the same last year. (You may want to reference here)

After sending an e-mail to FIRST I recieved an answer that
The company just merged the part numbers and you can use the HD or the S servo because they have identical specs. I still have the documentation of the e-mail. If you would like a copy of it just contact me VIA PM or E-Mail (Gamer930 at gmail).

This problem is addressed in Update 4, which came out today. Here is the relevant language:

Quote:
The following changes have been made to The Robot Section 5, now at Rev D:
<R43> Additional Parts:
Change the reference to servo type (in Bullet 1) from HS-322S to HS-322HD. The only Hitec
HS-322 servo model currently available in stores is the HS-322HD (same item as supplied
in the Kit of Parts).
<R43> Specific items allowed include:
• Additional HITEC HS-322HD Servos.

Re: Need Help Finding Servos

Some useful information concerning servo topics:

Quote:
Hitec servos come with the “S” or universal connector. This connector works with any brand of receiver, servo controller or servo extension.

Note: This pug can be accidentally plugged into a receiver in reverse. If this happens, no damage will occur, the servo will simply will not work. If you receive a servo and it does not work, make sure that you have plugged it in correctly..
