Re: How far ahead is FIRST in Game Design
wow, that is far back. Rees does remember things after all
. 2002 was the year were they used soccer balls to shoot in movable goals. maybe FIRST was experimenting with different kinds of round balls and finally decided to stick with soccer balls. i could be wrong, but that sounds reasonable to me. |

Re: How far ahead is FIRST in Game Design
I've heard the game is fully planned through 2009 and in the 2010 game FRC and FVC robots will be working together to cut Dave's hair, mow his lawn, and serve him dinner.

Re: How far ahead is FIRST in Game Design
No, way! I don't think they even consider what the game will be until Thanksgiving. That way, Dave can spend sleepless nights doing the animation.
Rumor has it here that "pool noodles" will be used next year. ![]() |

Re: How far ahead is FIRST in Game Design
Or, maybe every year we actually guess the game correctly and then the few days before kickoff they have to redo the whole thing because we already guessed it.

Re: How far ahead is FIRST in Game Design
I'd be willing to bet that when the make a game, they think, "And here's what we can do next year!" Does it strike anyone else funny that this year we're chucking spherical foam balls? FIRSTERS have been asking for footballs for a long time, maybe next year, or perhaps the year after that, we get to chuck footballs? Or maybe I'm just an optometrist

Re: How far ahead is FIRST in Game Design
Eh...funny thing...
That post when I made it was completely made up. A hoax in an attempt to get people talking about the possiblities of using slinky's. (Joke was on me because everyone figured to talk about Poof balls instead.) FIRST may plan ahead that far...but this isn't actual evidence of it. |
