This is the 2006 robot wheel it's white UHMW and is extremely strong, the plan is to wrap them in rough top conveyor material. This was done on a CNC mill and went through the whole engineering process from Inventor, to Master cam, to the cnc milling machine. Any questions?

Have fun,
Drew

Re: pic: 1251 Teaser

It looks like it's strong, but another team had a problem manufacturing thier wheels out of some sort of plastic and then it smashed to pieces when it got caught under their cart. I hope that doesn't happen to your team.

When you say UHMW do you mean ultra high molecular weight polyethelene or is it another UHMW plastic?

That wasn't a problem so much as it was an understood design flaw. The wheels in that photo were made from acrylic, a material that is far more fragile than polyethylene. They were made quickly as prototypes and were being run on a prototype chassis. Our competition-legal wheels are made from delrin and aluminum.

Re: pic: 1251 Teaser

Yes it is Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene, and honestly they ARE unbreakable. We hammer it, throw it on concrete like over 20 times. We threw in to walls as hard as we could throw it all it did was bounce back. Not even a crack. They are stronger then we ever thought they would be.

Any guesses on the weight?

5-8 Ounces, maybe all four are 1 lb, maybe a little more.

Nice job on those beauties.
