Unhappy 3DS File Corruption

We are working on animating our animation but every time we introduce our models into the scene and save our work, when we try to open it, we get the "application error" "we need to close box" . We have spent a week redoing the same work. Does anyone know anything to help fix the problem. We are stumped and stuck.

We would really appreciate it if anyone has anything to help.

I'd say, AVOID merging, but NEVER Import files. To be honest, those are the only two ways of combining things i know of, and merging works a lot more reliably than importing.

Try saving the corrupted file under a different filename, then merge the new file.

Re: 3DS File Corruption

We aren't merging the files, but XRefing them. We have tried different save names and locations, but it hasn't helped. Today I think we are going to try merging and other options to try to make it work.

Thanks for the input so far.

Re: 3DS File Corruption

I merged the scene and object and it finally seems to have worked. We can save and open the file so I think we have it handled.

Thanks for the advice.
