Re: pic: Teeter-Totter
Perhaps one half of their drivetrain, with the pivot meant to aid in traversing the ramp??? Although diamond plate and those omniwheels don't seem like they would agree with each other.

Re: pic: Teeter-Totter
The frame is made in two nearly identical halves and will be coupled at a cylindrical pivot joint. This will ensure that all wheels stay on the floor at all times. It should aid in climbing the ramp.
At least, that's what I get from it. Very unique design. |

Love the placement of the Kit Tranny.
I think this is what Paul was going for when he was ranting "It's GOTTA face mount!" -JV |

Re: pic: Teeter-Totter
One bit of advice: shield those transmissions. The aluminum casting *will* break if hit bluntly, and I will almost guarantee they will be at some point. Because you're using them for weight support as well as power transmission, their structural integrity is even more important. I would imagine some stiff bent perf. plate or Lexan should suffice.
Great idea guys, very elegant! |

Re: pic: Teeter-Totter
I'm well aware of the problem with the casting cracking. Last year we did a similar design but didn't protect them very well and the bosses on the inside of the transmission cracked off in all four in the exact same place. We're fixing that for this year.
And just so everyone knows, we would have used the same teeter-totter even if this years game didn't have a ramp... Alex |

Re: pic: Teeter-Totter
It's going to be amazing watching that thing climb the ramp if sanddrag is correct...
