Remade Laptop
2X Intel P4 Extreme HT running each at 3.7 GHZ Architecture 90 nm process technology L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache 2MB Clock Speed 3.73 GHz Clock Speed supporting Intel® Extended Memory 64 TechnologyΦ 3.73 GHz 15.4 inch screen ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 2 GIG DDR RAM Yet to upgrade: 60 gig HDIf you ask me how I fit that into a laptop, their is less than a centimeter of free space throughout the whole laptop. Lets just say that my average tempurature is 75C (167F) (have high speed base fan to cool) Battery life: 1 hour at max I don't know who wants to top that, but good luck... |

Why only 60? Get a nice 100gb harddrive. 100 is a nice round number, much nicer than 60. ![]() Wetzel |

So far haven't had a single problem with it, and it runs so much smoother than my desktop pc in almost every aspect except gaming. (Well, obviously - it's just a laptop) - Though not saying you can't game on it; it runs Half-Life 2 and BF2 just peachy. The dual core really makes things much nicer for multitasking... And it more than compensates for the lower clock speed in almost all cases. Along with the two gigs of ddr2 ram, it's handled everything I can throw at it. I usually have a ton of processor and ram intensive apps open at once, no problem, no slowdown. I just wish windows would have some method of allocating processes to a certain core automatically instead of having to do it manually. As far as battery life goes, I got about 3 hours of life out of it. After about now 60 or so charge cycles i'm down to about 2 to 2 and a half but I'm not complaining, it's good for what it is. *I keep the processor at full speed and I have the x1400 set for best performance, not for best battery life, as well as keeping the WiFi on whenever the laptop's on.* It's not the lightest thing out there, but it's not as heavy as say, an alienware laptop. My one complaint is that I hate hate hate hate hate TFT's... They're magnets for airborne particles and with me using this in the shop and at home with two longhair cats, I really wish I could swap it out with an LCD. I'm also yet to find a way to get rid of the streaks caused by moisture getting onto the screen from when I tried wiping some cat fur off the first day, but that's really all I don't like about it. For $1,500 i'm very happy with it. And to think, I was going to buy a macbook pro instead, with 512mb of ram and an 80gb hdd for $500 more than I got this baby for. ![]() Last edited by ForgottenSalad : 05-02-2006 at 01:04. |

Re: What speed(s) are your computers
1.8 GHz Intel Celeron Processor
320 MB RAM 3.5 floppy drive is currently out of commission That's all I can remember off the top of my head (I'm on a school computer right now, so I can't easily check). |

Re: What speed(s) are your computers
Yeah, my computer's aging... don't really have the funds to update it though.
2.53 Ghz P4 proc (only 533mhz bus!!) 512 mb ram (my mobo only has two slots!) 9800 pro (only reason I can play Homeworld 2, Rise of Nations, KOTOR 2...) and, /*drumroll*/ a broken floppy drive!! Yay! However, my sound system is killer - Audigy 2 ZS and a Logitech 680 system. |
