Re: How do you manage homework and robotics?

while I program on my laptop, I'm also working on essays, I do homework during class when given and during lunches, in the morning, and gosh I guess I don't take an actual break do I? I'm not even in honor classes.

Re: How do you manage homework and robotics?

I do something called homeroom work, if it cant be done in homeroom I do it during any free time, and carry my backpack everywhere.
Every assignment I get I give it a rating, 1 - 5 minutes or less ll the way up to 5 - atleast an hour. Then I schedule accordingly. 1-2 are done in hr, while 3-4 done in study hall/during classes, 5 done at home. Sometimes waking up a 5 am and doing my homework then is the only solution. Yet I keep my straight A's and a 99 on Science midterm!

Re: How do you manage homework and robotics?

Our robotics team doesn't start working until 5:30, so I do most of my homework when I get home after school. As a member of team 234 I am required to keep good grades and stay in touch with my teachers about homework and get help if needed. If someone needs help with homework we can bring it to robotics and get help there from other students. I also seem to get better grades during robotics season because I am always thinking.

Re: How do you manage homework and robotics?

I tend to have that sort of problem also. Personally, I try to cram everything in between lunch hours and classes. Keeping ears open for lectures and doing another class' work at the same time--only if the teachers would allow it. Sometimes I would skip a day of homework because of how exhausting it is, but in the end, I'm sure it'll be worth it.

It just depends on how you prioritize yourself along with how determined you are. You might end up getting use to it. I have.

Re: How do you manage homework and robotics?

It does take some dedicated effort to do homework and robotics, but robotics isn't till 5:30 and so I have about 2 hours, before, to do homework and i have some time after robotics. So I think theres still reasonable time. cyber blue 234

Re: How do you manage homework and robotics?

It's a breeze to get regular homework done even with FIRST, but that requires killing most free time. Big projects however, are near impossible. The last one was a presentation, and my teacher let me go last (because of FIRST), and I was barely done even a week+1/2 extra time. I've got a research paper coming up, but luckly most of the work can be done after the build season. If you are overloaded during the build season, don't be afraid to tell your teachers. They'll most likely be reasonable.

Smile Re: How do you manage homework and robotics?

Our school day ends at 2:30 and we start up at 5 in the evening. That allows students to get some homework done. We are a Tech Center so by 2:30 the students have gone back to their home schools. They then come back at 5 pm. Also, I recommend they have books with them in case they get some down time. Soometimes they do not come if they have too much.
We are now on 7 days a week and a team of 12. Most nights we have 6 kids or so there. We also feed our kids each night. Sometimes parents bring food but most nights teachers/secretaries/maintenance and aides at our school bring meals. We use a signup schedule. Kids don't like to miss since we really feed them well.

Re: How do you manage homework and robotics?

I found out that I have the least amount of time for homework on weekends (with church commitments)! Everything I can get done during the weekdays are usually most of what I get done.

Re: How do you manage homework and robotics?

we have our robotic meetings at 5:30 but one of our rules is homework first some of the team members will bring homework to robotics and work on it and get help with it the mentors don't mind but it is hard to get all homework done and robotics at the same time since robotics season has started i really use my study hall now compared to last semester

Re: How do you manage homework and robotics?

What is this homework you speak of? I actually just don't do it for the most part, but that's not because of robotics, I just don't need to. I'm tellin' you kids, high school today is just way too easy.
