Does this mean you are going to be using 4 FP to drive your robot?

I would suspect it is for their cannon system. You would have too many problems burning them out if you used them to drive. I only think you are allowed 2 of them anyways.

Re: pic: Dual FP KOP Tranny

What kind of gear is that and where did you get it? We were looking to use the fp motor last year but couldn't find the specs on the gear that comes on it. Thanks- James

Re: pic: Dual FP KOP Tranny

This is most likely for a shooter because the output rpms seems very high I would guess arround 1200 or so.

Re: pic: Dual FP KOP Tranny

We are using this for our "shooter" (per FIRST definition). RPM is actually around 450 based on 16,000 free speed.

Ken Patton says "Our F-P is a 9012, and it has a 32 pitch, 19 tooth pinion on it" and mine are the same. The mating gear is 46 tooth that I had lying around but is available through PIC (not recommended per bad experience with this company), Berg, Stock Drive and others. I had a 46 tooth, I suggest the readily available 45 tooth for anyone who wants to copy this.

The specs on FP motors are scattered throughout CD, a five minute search will give you specs on multiple years. The motors come with different tooth counts, typically 16 or 19.

Good Luck!
