Go to Post It's rather simple: you start with a block of solid and remove material until you just have the robot left. Kind of like making a sandcastle. Only harder. - petek [more]

Team Number 000

Has anyone used the Team number as 000 to "force" the RC into running autonomous mode every time? I've tried it and while the autonomous code appears to be running correctly (pwm values are getting set), none of the PWM signals are getting out to the motors. When I switch back to radio mode, it all works correctly. I was wondering if the 000 disables the PWM out puts some how? I'm in the process of putting a switch together for the OI competition port, but thought this might be faster. Thanks folks!

Just make a combo disable/auto swith for the competition port. You'll have more control that way.

Re: Team Number 000

Jeff,

We have always used the competition port switch. It's nice to be able to remotely shut down the robot if it starts to run amok.

Re: Team Number 000

I've done it, and it works. But don't. Do the words "mad robot" mean anything to you? (Trust me, it will happen.)

Not having a remote disable switch when running auto is a bad idea... The comp switch should not be hard at all.. two wires and a switch.

3 if you want autonomous as well as disable.

Re: Team Number 000

Message received, but the robot I'm working with is styrofoam and driven by 4 little EDU motors. It's just a software test bed. So I'm hearing that the 000 team number should not disable anything and I have a bug somewhere in my autonomous code that I need to ferret out. Thanks folks!

Here is an update for what it's worth. Using the Team 000 option DID have something to do with my autonomous code working. I hooked up my recently made switch to the competion port of the OI (pins 8 and 5), switched it to autonomous and the motors sprang to life! I'm not sure why, but using the 000 did disable all my pwm outputs. Lesson learned!
