We have a frame welded. We have lots of shooter and turret parts machined, we have lots (but not all) gearbox parts machined. And we have a conveyor prototype and a basket prototype. The basket, delivery system, and conveyor have not started real production yet. Hopefully we'll finish gearboxes tomorrow. We'll see. We have nothing assembled yet for the real thing except our welded frame.
Yeah, we are in exactly the same situation. A whole bunch of prototypes and bar-napkin-scribbles, not a whole lot of robot. Fortunately though, the operator interface and electronics board are done (they were my job), and the chassis is driveable. We can be a very effective waterbug if we don't accomplish anything this week.

EDIT: This is my 128th post! That's 10,000,000 in binary!

Re: crunch time

I am proud to say that Team 1712's robot is in full operating condition. Everything mechanical and electrical wise is finished and pretty much final, and we are currently in the testing and practicing stage. There are a few things that came up that we have to tweak a little bit, and i'm sure that a few more are going to come up before ship, but it doesn't look like we're going to have to go into panic mode to get the bot finished. A little code optimization and mechanical tweaks here and there and we should have our pretty much final robot and code.

Re: crunch time

Almost done with the prototype, currently building the competition robot which is a little over 50% done.

Re: crunch time

Our robot has a chassis and drive system, a conveyor belt to pick up balls, and a shooter. We still need a way to actually get balls from the conveyor to the shooter, and we don't know if the shooter rotator will work (or how well we'll even be able to control the speed of the shooter). The control board is completely done, electronics I think is almost done (need sensors). Programming is done with manual control (which means code is written, but still has to be tested and not work 5 times), and autonomous is nearing a testable state.

Unfortunately, when we put everything we have built and everything we thought we'd have on the robot, we're pretty much at weight with the battery. A few of us are trying to think of any way possible to cut the pneumatics out of the system; I think there's little chance we'll be able to put enough holes in the robot to set up our whole ball movement system still.
