Re: Smells like Team Spirit

yea im from ramtech and as much as I know we cheer alot...well i dont know since its my first year at my schools team, but i do see a couple of those team spirit awards liyng around and we got this crazy "mentor" woman that keeps screarming all the time. so yea ived seen videos of them and they seem kinda cheery, havent seem other teams so i cant compare. we have a big team, in my opinion, at 40-45 so that kinda helps. I am in 2(posibly 3) sports teams for my school so i personally know how to cheer alot. well may the cheer live on...may it live on for long...hehe that rimes...

Re: Smells like Team Spirit

wow, way to revive a old thread...

Some may take my opinion negatively, but in my honest opinion, I believe cheering should be done purley with the human voice. Banging thing togther just to create noise is not cheering, its noise which in all honesty can sometimes get annoying. Now I'm not aiming this at a specific team or teams, I'm just saying that for the folks who do not exactly know what FIRST is all about, listening to "noise" being created is sometimes a turn off. In one competition I went to, one team in particular used thier "insturments" so loud that you could not even hear the announcer or the MC.

Just my $.02

Would cheerleaders do the trick for a small team?
292 used cheerleaders last year at boilermaker, though I think they've graduated by now.

Re: Smells like Team Spirit

Nothing says team spirit more than launching small foam objects with the team's logo on them out of an Air Cannon across the playing field into the crowd.

Or doesn't it say enough....either way, it was fun.

Ringers won't attract a spirit award.
Small teams should try getting another team to cheer with them instead.
