Your crate can be no bigger the 4'x4'x5'10". The 5'10" height includes the 4"x4"s used to make your crate "forkliftable". The biggest thing I can advise you is try not to go over the 400 lb weight limit. It gets very expensive if you do. (This is pure experience talking!) Good luck at your regionals.

Re: Robot packaging and transportation

Just a quick question. Do we have to arrange the shipping online or do we just call FedEx the day before and have them pick it up?

Re: Robot packaging and transportation

delete the phrase "robot box" from your vocabulary!

everyone you talk to about this must be completely clear that you are building a crate. If the warehouse guys cant use a forklift to move it, you will never see it again!

Your Team's Main Contact (according to the FIRST TIMS) has received instructions on how to work with FedEx to prepare for shipping. Only the Main Contact has access to the FedEx PassKey system. I've attached some of the instructions here for reference.

Re: Robot packaging and transportation

Thanks a lot. It really helped. However, after I press the "Continue" button, it takes me to a screen filled with other things i need to fill out instead of showing me the printable airbill like the instructions say.

Re: Robot packaging and transportation

my team is having an issue, we followed the instructions and all. but as soon as we try and arragne a pick up date/time the website says, "You cannot schedule a pickup using a non-revenue account. Please use a dropoff location."

is anyone else having this issue. If so how did you solve it? or if you didn't have this problem; how did you get a pick up time set?
