They're not shirts, they're the easy to recognize BOB shop rags.

I will be looking forward to getting my rag again this year. Just found last years a few days ago.

There's just one thing missing

Re: pic: Where Those Team 85 Shoprags Come From

One BOB shop rag will be attached to our team's robot throughout this season, in memory of Steve Yasick.

Here is a link for funeral and viewing arrangements.

Notice this portion of the obituary: "In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Eugene Yasick Jr. Education Fund (for his children's college tuition)."

My family's prayers are for the Yasicks.

Andy

Re: pic: Where Those Team 85 Shoprags Come From

After our shop rags were mentioned in the local paper this week, I received several questions about the significance of the shop rag. I did a search here and realized that we had never posted the reasons for these giveaways which appear to be unique among FIRST teams.

We give out shop rags, which have become a symbol of our team, for three primary reasons:
  • They are a symbol of always being ready to help.
  • We are proud to represent Michigan and its blue collar history.
  • With a team guideline of an “80% plus student-built-robot”, we hope all teams get a chance to get their hands dirty!
We'll be at Boilermaker, West Michigan, and Atlanta this year. Please stop by and get your 2006 shop rag!
