okay team 1831, rookie team, needs to know if you need to account for donated materials? if so how do you do that?

We have a second column on the spread sheet for the "real world" cost of items. Examples include we get a lot of used aluminum at $1.50 per lb and some new at 3.75 per lb. So for cost of out spider(used material) approx 10lbs is $15.00 out of the teams pocket and $37.50 real world cost. Donated items are 0 out of pocket and what ever another team would have to pay for it. Also read real closely about what you get from sponsors. Generally you only have to cost the materials if your sponsor is doing machining for you.

Here's the rule that applies per 5.3.4.4 you must count
"The fair market value of an item obtained at a discount or as a donation." |
