Re: What's your favorite sci-fi show?

I enjoy the two Stargate series quite a bit. SG-1 is surviving the recast and Ben Browder has proven a good Richard Dean Anderson replacement. Claudia Black is a character all to her self. I was very happy with that casting, as Farscape was a fantastic show, and to see two of the stars still on SciFi is welcome. Atlantis is pretty good, and sticks to the SG-1 formula. Maybe being formulaic is typically a bad thing, but then, its a pretty good formula. It's good lighthearted sci/fi meat and potatoes.

Battlestar Galactica is, with out any doubt in my mind, the best drama on TV. This show absolutely blew me away when the miniseries first debuted. Near the end of the 2nd season and the story is still full of twists and drama and still believable. The show does a fantastic job of not getting bogged down in technical issues and sticks to it's proven ability to use the fantastic setting to explore very real life issues like prisoner abuse, abortion, loyalty and betrayal, the role of the military and government. The list goes on and on, but I love that it is made up of current and important issues with out beating me over the head with the fact (like the West Wing or Law and order- Kindergarten squad does).
