Re: 2006 NJ Regional
Congrats to the winners 25, 103, and 1279.
After reading about all this great matches, I can't wait to see some video. I love 25's robot and can't wait to see it at the Championships. |

Re: 2006 NJ Regional
For everyone at NJ, what made 25 so dominating?
Was their shooter more than ordinary? Do they auto aim? Was their drivetrain strong enough to overcome defense? Was it the auto mode? If you had to pick one best feature, what would it be? |

1. They're top-loading. During defense, they took their bot back and just top loaded it to full. (at least 15 balls) 2. Rotating shooter: Their shooter is low but it could rotate to aim without turning the robot (not 180 degrees, maybe 130). 3. Very accurate: I don't remember exactly what system they used, but it was very, very accurate. 4. Strong driving: Their bot, while thin, was very powerful and could push other bots out the way. Their only weakness was they were also very pushable when not specifically resisting that push. That's how we came 6 points from winning in the first match of the finals, we had 1860 turn them in autonomous. If to point out any one thing I'd say the fact that it was top-loading was a huge advantage (though obviously they did some things better, seeing as other top loading teams like spike or some of the non-play-off bots were also top loading.) They're also very hard to push over. Those bumpers stop them from falling almost every time. In autonomous they kept changing how close to the goal they got to throw off our blocks, but they always went for the upper goal. During manual mode, they had auto aim as well. Very tough to overcome... It seems bots with auto-aim in manual mode did the best. I'm tired, that's all I remember at this point. |

Re: 2006 NJ Regional
The NJ Regional was absolutely AWESOME!!! That is positively the loudest I've ever screamed in my entire life. I'm a frosh, so this is my first competition and now I see why the upperclassmen are addicted to them. Our robot was better than I expected, I wasn't able to see it in action when our team held Robot Rally. But, I'm incredibly happy and tired at the same time right now. About the WFA, just 3 words: I LOVE COKELEY!!! I LOVE COKELEY!!! How was the bear hug? Haha. I was so stressed out about the finals, I was shaking and screaming. Haha. Yeah. I LOVE YOU BHARAT!!!! WOOOOO!!!!

Re: 2006 NJ Regional
Team 25 was dominating, their shooter was dead on accurate, they could auto aim on the fly so even if you did manage to push them they just compensated, they were fast and strong at the same time. I would go far as to say that this robot was better then their robots from 2000 and 2003 (where they were National Champs and National Finalists respectively)
Congrats to 25 for going undefeated and to teams 103 and 1279 for winning NJ back to back years. On another note, what did you guys think of the competition? How was my announcing? Was there anything I should work on, make better? Keep the same? I'm always looking for pointers, and any advice you could give would be a tremendous help (Btw I was the one that did the little flip/somersault during the one match) |

Re: 2006 NJ Regional
Congratulations to Team 25. Being a member of team 1257, it was great getting to team with you guys earlier this morning. Same goes for 1279, it was fun working with you guys. I really had a good time at the regional. I wish my team but chosen, but eh, it happens. Still feel kinda bummed about that, but I won't let that get in the way of what was a good time. I hope to become a mentor for my team next year, as I'm a senior. Hopefully we'll go to Trenton again and we can try to join you guys in the finals next year. Again, congratulations on a very dominating performance.

I had originally hoped that our alliance would be 375-486-293, but spike was quickly chosen, and (obviously) 1860 turned out to do a great job. I recall that moment when spike almost pushed 25 over but instead they came back and pushed spike over. ![]() Plus we think one of our team members is the American long-lost twin of one of the 1860 Brazillian team. They look a lot alike. |

[quote=Mercury Rising]Whew our semi-finals almost made me lose the control of my bowels when Spike almost tipped us over[quote]
You should not have worried. Our drivers saw you tipping over and we pulled back. We don't play dirty. Never have, never will. Congratulations on a well-deserved win. Congrats also to the new BMS team 1807 Allentown who managed to pull off a win in the rubber match of the quarterfinals when their alliance partners had both fallen over. Thanks to 563 for making our great alliance possible. We ran into a juggernaut against whom we needed to play perfect to win, and we came up short. Congrats to 293's drive team who overcame a lot of adversity to become one of the best, most coordinated, most strategically adept units at the competition. You four know what I'm talking about. Most importantly, thanks to head ref Sky Morehouse for yet another well-run event. The officiating at Trenton is incredibly consistent not just from match to match but from year to year. Refs only seem to get noticed for the bad calls, but I think it's important to give them credit for a job well done, especially when they've made a habit of doing it right. |

Re: 2006 NJ Regional
Thank you everyone for the kind words about our team. We got some lucky breaks today and try to make the best of everything that was throw at us. The semi finals and finals matches we very hard fought ones and we are happy to have gotten away with wins. I was extreamly suprised of how well everone did in the playoffs and it made a great compition to watch. We will do our best to step it up for nationals to make nj and bms proud. I think tomorrow will be a well needed sleep day for me.
thanks again shaun ps thanks 103 for helping us with chairmans and thank you 1089 with the wfa |

Also another shout out to teams 1403, 25, etc. and many more who helped us when we needed help and provided advice. Thanks for lending us some last-minute equipment/parts monty! We'll see most of you at nats. Which we're GOING TO NOW! Because we won Engineering Inspiration and qualify!! YES!! But anyway, this was my fourth year at NJ... and it was by far the best!
