No, this was during the practice rounds, but the other alliance members appear to be staring in awe at our machine, probably wondering why they didn't think of it or how they were going to stop us.

I watched VCU via NASA TV, and I was very impressed with your bot. It's really close between yall and 510 for my favorite robot of the competition.

Re: pic: 222 "Like Shooting Fish in a Barrel"

you have a little problem there, getting off the ramp. They can lock you in there, hence possibly giving them 30 points if a robot can stop on the ramp when blocking you in. (25 for the 3 robots then 5 for one more). well, gives a good chance for you to get caught on the ramp, giving the opponents points.

Re: pic: 222 "Like Shooting Fish in a Barrel"

I don't believe that you can gain more than 25 points for robots on the ramp, even if you have 4. I think their idea is that it's better to trade the ramp points for reliably scoring a bunch of 3-pointers, which makes sense.

I might be wrong, but i think you can only get a maximum of 25 points for robots on the ramp

Re: pic: 222 "Like Shooting Fish in a Barrel"

still, that could be the robot that gives the red alliane the extra 10 points in the 25 deal. Also eliminates the blue alliance of getting the 25 deal.

I'd say more than 75% of the time you are not going to have 3 robots even on the ramp, even so we have one powerful drive-train.

Also good luck blocking us from shooting once we get up there.

Also, when teams head up to the ramp while we are on there and we prevent them from getting on or by the time they start toward their ramp we are headed toward ours...

Hehe, I don't think we tried, but that might have been a bad assumption. (note our last qualifier and what happen to 435)

You guys did an awesome job at VCU. So much, that you were one of the teams that other teams would tell go around and say "Here's how to beat the Tigertrons...". No, that's not meant to be an insult, it shows the level of respect floating around in the pits for you. The same time of comments emerged for teams like 435 and 384.

Care to explain what you are talking about? I don't know when your last qualifier was and it will take me a while to download the match on dialup.

Haha, I'll second that one! We had one designated ramp sitter to try and keep you off the ramp, and after he flipped we did everything we could to keep you off!

Re: pic: 222 "Like Shooting Fish in a Barrel"

Great strategy... the Cheesy Poofs did the same thing at PNW... and walked (or, more accurately, rolled) away winners. I think they hit 11 goals in something like five seconds. They did, however, have occasional ball feed problems and were nicely double-teamed and taken out of the game in the backfield in the second match of the finals, but that whole 100% shooting percentage is pretty hard to top!
