workpoints

After creating wires in Inventor 10 is there any way of getting rid of the workpoints while in the .iam file?

Inventor is odd about work geometry sometimes. I can't fully explain it, but critical workpoints (those referenced in a constraint) can't typically be deleted.

You _can_ hide them by turning off their visibility, either for all work points or individually. They will still show up in the model list, but you won't see them on screen.

Am I even getting close to your question?

Re: workpoints

yes you are close

The problem is that I have tried to change the visibility but it has not let me.

Any suggestions?

I did a quick test on V10, and could not create a workpoint in a simple assembly that I could not turn invisible.

What version are you running?

Perhaps you could post or email me your files? Inventor is a very complex program, and I'll probably never be able to replicate your problem with the information I have. My guess is that Its not a bug but some confluence of parameters that make something simple seem impossible. There is usally a box that just needs to be unchecked somewhere to fix that sort of thing.

Also, if your concern is producing a shiny looking rendering of the assmebly for printing or posting as an image there are methods for rending that produce a better image then a screen shot. Is this what you are after?

Re: workpoints

hmm i have not run into that situation. Once resolved with a work plane or axis, the points disappearred for me. You should be able to right click the feature in the side bar to take off visibility
