BigDog!
The military has invested in Boston Dynamics to create a robotic packmule for troops in the field. What they came up with is amazing. (Though a little loud for combat operations...)
P.S.- I think someone posted the climbing robot that Boston Dynamics has a while ago. All the stuff is awesome. http://www.bdi.com/content/sec.php?section=BigDog Video- www.bdi.com/dist/BigDog_Feb-26-2006.wmv |

Re: BigDog!
For those of you that have subscriptions to Popular Science, there was an article on BigDog in there as well detailing some of the technology that was used. Impressive design, I can't wait to see the next generation!

Re: BigDog!
Yeah, that was where I originally saw it, though PopSci didn't go too far into detail.

The leg movement is eerily biological.

Re: BigDog!
When you first watch it, it looks like two guys running around inside the thing. But when they kick it, the response is so quick- really impressive.
