2006 Pittsburgh FIRST Personal Recognition Awards

Folks:

FIRST piloted "FIRST Personal Recognition Awards" at the 2006 Pittsburgh Regional. The awards themselves were one-of-a-kind recognition buttons which were presented to individuals by teams during the competition.

Here is the list of recipients from Pittsburgh. If you are interested in having FIRST continue this process for the remainder of the season (and at the Championship Event), please let me know.

Congratulations to each of these people who made the Pittsburgh Regional a great event for the team's attending.

Re: 2006 Pittsburgh FIRST Personal Recognition Awards

Congratulations everyone, and specifically Brian and Jess!
It's great to see FIRST realizing just how great some of MOE's efforts are.
This was an awesome idea last year, and I can't wait to see how it pans out well into the future.

Brilliant! Great idea, and loved reading through the spreadsheet of awardees. John, are you going to this at Philly? If you are, let me know if you need help. I'd think it definitely should be continued!

Re: 2006 Pittsburgh FIRST Personal Recognition Awards

I am honored to have received a FIRST Personal Recognition Award from MOE. I wear this pin proudly and each time I put it on I think of all the wonderful people who helped us in Pittsburgh. Some of them also received this award there, but some did not.

I suppose you couldn't give yourselves this award, but the whole MOE team really deserves one. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I really don't know how we would have managed in Pittsburgh without all of your help. Joe, Lou, Bob and what seemed like half the team arrived Wednesday noon for field setup - with your help we had it ready in time for volunteer orientation that evening. Many MOE-ers put aside (or covered) their green shirts to take on staff positions during the event. When we finally finished Saturday awards (at 6 PM!) you, along with members of 291 and 1708 stayed on to pack the field up and organize the crates for truck loading.

You guys rock!

Re: 2006 Pittsburgh FIRST Personal Recognition Awards

Folks:

For those teams attending the Philly Regional - we have the approval to continue the FIRST Personal Recognition Award pilot there also! In the next week, all Philly teams will be receiving an e-mail describing the process.

PHILLY TEAMS - please take the time at the upcoming (AWESOME) regional to thank those individuals who will make your experience great.

We have a really nice-looking button design for the Philly award. You will see it soon.
