Re: FIRST is all mixed up....

Maybe this is pit order?

The pit map at STL this year was arranged so that every rookie team had a veteran team on either side of their pit. This caused some initial confusion for judges, queuers, robot inspectors, drayage folks, and others trying to locate a team by their number. We worked it out, though. I am a big fan of this change -- makes it easier for veterans to find out about rookie problems and jump in to help fix them, and that makes the event run smoother.

I believe in intuition and inspiration. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research.

I have to say it is a great idea for FIRST Mentorship program for the pits to be arranged Rookie Veteran Rookie Veteran especially with the amount of rookies this year and the complexity of the game.

I know personally there was 4-5 teams that I helped with different programming issues that were within a 30 ft radius of our pit. It encourages rookies that are having problems to ask people next to them.

Yes is was a pain somewhat to find a team but I think FIRST should do something like it at all regionals.

Re: FIRST is all mixed up....

I'm not having this problem when i look at the page. However, it could very well be the order in which teams signed up. I know we here on 1504 signed up a few weeks after ship day, this could be why we are listed waaaay down on the bottom.

Re: FIRST is all mixed up....

So.. yeah. I noticed that as well, and I just clicked on your link Dan, and now it's in order.

The database is screwy, or maybe it's suposed to be that way, but sometimes the numbers are in order, and then they are in no particular order that I can see from first glance. I just noticed that on multiple occasions the past week or so.

I don't know.

Re: FIRST is all mixed up....

Most likely it's not signup date, but payment date.

I noticed the lists flopping back and forth like this a couple weeks ago. Weird.

I agree it is pit order at UTC they put a rookie team between two veteran teams.

I doubt it's pit order, the pit order seemed to count down every other one until it reached the middle then go up every other one until the end (like 1, 6, 2, 5, 3, 4)
