I thought 329 and some others that I don't remember the number of (sorry about that) were great

Another poorly updated regional.
You'd think FIRST would be able to make sure the information is available.

Re: SBP Long Island Regional

QF1
358, 271, and 870 vs. 1019, 564, and a third robot my dad couldn't see in the quarterfinal. 358 was first seed and their alliance just advanced to the semifinal. The score in the second match was 68 - 6.

QF1
417, 545, 500 vs. 533, 28, 566 in the opposite quarter final match. 417, 545, 500 advances.

QF3
1606, 102, 570 vs. 527, 287, 1635. 527, 287, 1635 wins QF3-1.

QF4
569, 270, 1803 vs. 1468, 353, 329.

SF1-1
358, 271, 870 vs. 417, 545, 500. 358, 271, 870 wins first match 71 - 50. 417, 545, 500 alliance wins second match, wherein 358 was tipped and 271 did not move. 358, 271, 870 advance to finals.

Finals:
358, 271, 870 vs. 1468, 353, 329

F1-1 goes to 358, 271, 870 with a score of 96 to 52.
F1-2 goes to 1468, 353, 329.
F1-3, 358's shooter is broken, 271 steps up and shoots ~10.

Holy crap. It's a tie. 58-58. They're getting ready to run the fourth match of the finals now.

Re: 2006 SBPLI Long Island Regional

Match 5. This is absurd.

Teams 358 and 271 switched their robot's starting position at the last moment and the referees are calling for a rematch of the fourth match in the finals.

Aside from being all powerful, what justification do the referees have in making that sort of call? Specifically, what rules are there governing the placement of the robots before a match begins? I admit to being rusty in this area.

Edit: My dad's unclear on explicitly why the rematch was called, for what it's worth, but everything seems to point to the switch.

Apparently that is an actual rule as Greg Needel had pointed out to me and he's going to be head ref in Isreal so he must know what he's talking about.

The rule is that you have to put your robot in the position that you told the queueing manager before the match. This is to prevent the sort of last-minute switching that you describe.

It was a Q&A... I'm not sure if it was in the original rules. I've edited my original post with the supporting information.

Re: 2006 SBPLI Long Island Regional

Congratulations to teams 358, 271, and 870 for winning the 2006 SBPLI Long Island Regional after five matches.

Congratulations also to their opponents, teams 1468, 353, and 329.

Wow.

Is there any chance anyone who is there can be contacted so the official information can be released?

Are you referencing the website as official information? It may be that the facility doesn't have internet access, so the scores aren't being updated. I'm not sure who's running scoring there this year, so I can't be sure.

In any case, FIRST will upload the data as soon as they're able to. I was on the telephone with my family in the stands, so I know at least that the information is accurate, if not official.

Well I hope so.
Because last yer if it wasn't updated when the event was occuring it wasn't updated at all (remember So Cal last year? Not one ounce of information was officially released). I hope that isn't the case this year.
