Re: Who's robot does everything?

Aces High's robot once again can do everything. In contrast with our past years however we do everything well. We can shoot the 3 pointers with high accuracy and repeatability even under heavy defense. We can do perfect 1 point drops with up to 20 balls in our robot. We can get ourselves on the ramp and help in pushing up other robots onto the ramp. We can play great defense, or be an amazing backbot. We have 3 main auto modes that can block, score high, or score low. Our Drive team is very experienced and easy to work with. And as our second at BAE and first at UTC show we must be doing something right.

Re: Who's robot does everything?

Our robot can do everything and do it all well. Our collection system has been upgrade so it puts the balls in the hopperin a time of two seconds (up from four) and we could easly pick up tens balls in 40 seconds with the old system. When we dump into the corner goals we hit 100 percent of our balls (and most of this was in auto- mode) 8 out of 10 times. When we shoot we can fire off 7 balls in 7 seconds with great accuracy (we get 6/7 most of the time). We also have the capablity of hold 27 balls at once (but we use them too fast to reach this number). We have no trouble at all getting up on the ramp as well. From a defensive point of view we can defend low shooters because of the height of our robot and since the entire thing is covered by expanded metal there arent any holes to shoot through. We also have some pushing power to defend against high shooters. When i first got to drive the robot at competition i was really amazed at what the build team had given me to work with.

Re: Who's robot does everything?

Currently we can do everything: Human player loading, floor loading, center goal, lower goals. However, before we compete at Palmetto, we'll be removing the lower goal capability so that we can have some weight to make our robot better at everything else. Also, we haven't hit the lower goal button once in a competition.

Re: Who's robot does everything?

Our robot was able to do everything. It had automated pan and tilt system for the shooter, a conveyor, a human-loadable hopper and could reverse the conveyor to score in the corner goal. Our drive train could also bring us up on the ramp. We found it drained a lot of power and was too complicated. We have removed the tilt function since we found its not needed. It still does the rest though.

Smile Re: Who's robot does everything?

Our robot can shoot with an angle adjust (tilt) and a turret. We also have a roller system which allows us to pick up balls from the floor and either score them in the lower goal or shoot them. We have one magazine which feeds to the shooter and the lower goal and one that feeds exclusively to the lower goal. The robot has a lower goal and a shooting auton mode and can easily get up the ramp. It also auto aims.

Yeah, it was working pretty well once we got to Chesapeake. (and got our driver/programmer back from standardized-testing land) The worst part was sitting at BAE watching the robot we built to do everything do nothing. Luckily it's better now.
