Re: What teams would you really like to meet at a FIRST event?

Lets see....

71
93
135
141
175
250
494
677
1559
1747

Funny story about team 71...two years ago at the 2004 Nationals. (FIRST Frenzy year) We were in the same hotel as 71. Well it was our seniors of the team that made a water balloon launcher, and we used it to shoot water balloons out the window of the hotel and into the streets about 200 yards away. Team 71 found us doing this, so we began to shoot the water balloons at them.

We consider the reason why 71 didn't select us for the Archamedies fianls is because we actually didn't hit them. They won the Chapionship that year.

Martians are legendary. sure we won with them this year, but why not see them again?

And if you haven't heard the 1-5-5-9 SHADOWCLAW!! yet you are missing out on some awsome chanting.

Re: What teams would you really like to meet at a FIRST event?

I've met 494, 70, 111, and 1625 and those are all great teams. I'd like to meet H.O.T. and the Cheesypoofs. Some more cool teams to meet were:

754 (Frostbyte)
1108 (Panter Robotics)
862 (Lightning Robotics)
81 (Metalheads)
Beatty

Re: What teams would you really like to meet at a FIRST event?

I always like seeing old favorites and local teams, and every year we get to know some veteran teams better. I'd love to meet 1164 because their team seems so cool. But I have to admit one of the neatest things every year is meeting the rookies. I enjoyed talking with several rookie teams this year at BMR, including 1737 who stayed in our hotel and our pit neighbors 1766. Looking at the other regional results, 2006 rookies seem to be another successfal bunch. I'm looking forward to seeing the five new teams this weekend at WMR.

Thanks, I would like to meet you guys too. Why? Well a few selfish reasons. You see, I know team 172 (Not a UTC team, they tell me), I know 173 very well, obviously we are 175, 176 is our sister team, I know 177, 178, and 179. Therefore 174 is really the only hole. Also, I believe you guys are from Liverpool and I have some questions about robotics in the general area (which I may PM you with later if it turns out to actually be a concern).

Aside from that.
365
67
191
254
The NiagaraFIRST Triplets
236 (Who I know sort of from one year at bash at the beach, but I enjoy the dance and the mascot)

Teams I have met before but really enjoy seeing
33
138
108
88
007
1027
237
836 (who have gone to every regional I have gone to)
also, we had a great time with 1629 and 1184 (these are two great groups of people, although not large teams, we had a great time sitting/cheering with them)

But, I think you can see by my list that I love to meet people and I love to talk about robotics. So I would like to meet anyone. If any one has questions about scouting PM me or visit me in Atlanta.

Re: What teams would you really like to meet at a FIRST event?

The easiest way to meet some ledgendary teams and get a good eduation in what makes them great is to visit the FIRST Hall of Fame. A truly awesome experience.

Another great way to meet a lot of teams is to volunteer at tournaments.

It's the truth--they had them at UCF.

Personally, I'd like to meet some folks from beyond the South. Much as I love the crazy folks from Florida and all, I have to say I enjoyed my stint in the Mid-Atlantic area at the Capital Clash. And I'd really like to meet the folks behind those amazing robots from the Southwest, such as 22/4/968/60/254.

AGGHHH!! My brain is going to explode!

My "teams to meet" - any rookie. I love to talk to rookies. I love to hear how they got started, how they attacked the problem. Rookies are so much fun. I like rookies. My list includes all rookies.
