Re: Flexible, Bendable Rod
I think you are asking about the fiberglass poles. You can get a variety of raw stock from Campmoor or Cabela's.

Re: Flexible, Bendable Rod
Cheaper, heavier tents frequently have fiberglass poles, which are heavy, less flexible and tend to break at unfortunate times.
More expensive, lighter tents usually have aluminum poles, which are light, more flexible, and tend to bend at unfortunate times. Rick Tyler Assistant Scoutmaster Philmont 2006 Trek Coordinator, 729-C-1 and 729-C-2 Troop 575, Chief Seattle Council REI Abuser, Campmor Addict |

Re: Flexible, Bendable Rod
I know that if you're only looking for small tubes that Carbon fiber is a reasonable material to look into. In a tube form a carbon fiber rod is very flexible, very light and doesn't break or bend that easily. I haven't used it ever in a real situation but I did order some once just to play with. McMaster sells some but their selection is limited compared to that of other materials. I'm sure there are better suppliers if you're very interested.

Re: Flexible, Bendable Rod
If you want real stiff try tubular carbon rods. Arrows or Kite suppliers have it. Solid carbon used for Kites is more flexible. Drive way markers from home centers are 3/8" fiberglass. Mcmaster-Carr sells thicker fiberglass rods.

Re: Flexible, Bendable Rod
Carbon fiber rods are typically available at hobby shops also. Used for pushrods in model airplanes.
