Re: 2006 West Michigan Regional

There is no webcast planned for this year but the committee is working on having a webcast for future events. When we get it set up next year it will be accessible thru the regional website. Sorry we can't get it this year.

Free Wireless thru Saturday Midnight

Great News, I was just informed that GVSU-IT is offering wireless access to the organization and participants of the Robotics competition throughout campus.

The Bluesocket login below will be activated from now until midnight Saturday.

Re: 2006 West Michigan Regional

My impression of West Michigan regional after the first day.(compared to Midwest regional )

1. Robots-I think the competition is more compressed ,meaning the distance between the highest level teams and the lower teams in not as great.

2. pit area -48 teams and the split pits is a great idea.wide Ilse and plenty of room.

3.food- fair prices $2.00 pop and water about half the price of Chicago.

4. parking -FREE

5.Staff Overall staff seems well trained and organized at both events.

Great job to the organizer and staffs

Good luck on Friday and Saturday to all the team

Sounds nice there. ^_^ GVSU usually has some of the fairer prices though... I <3 that field house to death.

Sounds like fun too with the robots =D I really wish I could be there today.

See ya all tomorrow at the WMR!

I'll second that, it seems like all the standings / match scores for the regionals this weekend aren't up yet.

Re: 2006 West Michigan Regional

I'm not completely sure, but I think the top three are 808, 85 , and 70. Thats how it stands right now.

One thing that kinda made my day, was that team 67, which I think is a good team, needed help with there transmission. I don't know how they got to us for help, but they came and got me from the stands because I'm the "expert" on the transmission for our team. I'm not, I just put it to gather last year and this year. Anyhoo, I was glad to help, but I'm surprised that they needed help. They are one of the better teams to me. Good luck to all of the team tomorrow.

sounds interesting... ^_^ hehe, I'm so up for tomorrow, I can't wait.

I fell asleep, only to find out it was Firefox being stupid and not showing the updates to the standings and stuff.

Re: 2006 West Michigan Regional

So far this has turning out to be a great competition. A good mix of good defensive low goal scoring robots and Offensive High goal scoring robots.

The highlight of the day for me was probably the awarding of the Woodie Flowers Award to Steve Yasick, probably one of the most moving moments I have ever witnessed in FIRST.

The competition should be heating up even more tomorrow, should be interesting to see how the alliances pan out.
