Pure Shooters -- 2006 Hall of Fame

I don't care about defense. I don't care about clever designs. Who scores? Which robots can put in 25+ points if you let them loose for five seconds? Who needs 100% defense all the time or they trash you? Which robots have scored 40-50 points in match by themselves?

One request: No reputation votes. If you haven't seen the robot in person or on a Webcast, please don't list them. Please include the team's nickname or robot name if you know it.

If you prefer defensive bots, go ahead and start another thread, but please don't list them here (unless they shoot the lights out of the goal).

Extra credit goes to bots that get it done in autonomous, too.

I'll give you my starter list for the 2006 Shooter Hall of Fame:

254, the Cheesy Poofs
968, Johnny Five
25, Raider Robotix
987
11, Mort
1280
330, the Beach Bots
95, the Grasshoppers

I believe in intuition and inspiration. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research.

I gotta say, 343 was a serious threat when we were against them this morning. (On the flip side, I gotta say 343 was a serious asset when we were allied with them this morning. )

Re: Pure Shooters -- 2006 Hall of Fame

Teams 494 Martians and 70 More Martians were pretty good. 135 from Boilermaker, if you didn't play defense on them they lit it up and sometimes when you did. I didn't see a full match, but I think 111 Wildstang was pretty darn good at Milwaukee. The Triplets were good from what I saw of them on the Great Lakes web cast.

These next teams are just below the ones above, but you still need defend them. 27 Team RUSH was good at West Michigan, so were 33 Killer Bees and team 85 BOB or Built On Brains. 66 the Fliers were also good. These team were all in the finals.

This is really is really hard to think of teams. There were some at West Michigan that are good, but were also easily stopped. I wish 111 Wildstang and 71 The Beast or Beatty were there, then I could of seen them and commented on them.

Re: Pure Shooters -- 2006 Hall of Fame

I just saw 118 (the robonauts?) at the Lone Star Regional. Awesome shooter. It was scoring all 10 in autonomous almost every match. Their alliance ended up losing the final final when they became agressively defended.

Soooo.....118

Re: Pure Shooters -- 2006 Hall of Fame

Well since it says "shooter" and 1 pt scorers are considered shooters, I think they should also be commented on in this thread. 1 Pt scorers can do major damage in any match...

353 is insane, if you let them on the ramp it's all over for you.
