Lowest seed to win a regional
Sorry if this has been done before... I did a search and didn't find it.
What is the lowest seed that you know of thats gone on to win a regional... In Philly we were 39th out of 46 (not for lack of performance on our part) and we won. |

Re: Lowest seed to win a regional
Last year we (108) were seeded 79th out of 82 on Curie in Atlanta and won the division.
I also remember last year 93 was seeded dead last at Boilermaker and made the finals, but not too sure about any other really low seeds winning. Congratulations on the win! |

Re: Lowest seed to win a regional
I believe at Chesapeake last year team 53 seeded second to last (53 out of 54, or something like that) and was part of the winning alliance.

Re: Lowest seed to win a regional
At the UTC regional, the Uberbots (1124) were seeded 36th out of 40 teams, and we picked them to help us win the regional.
However, I didnt even consider what they were ranked, they were what we were looking for, and they made for an awesome alliance. |

Re: Lowest seed to win a regional
at the boston regional this year... team 125 (a very decent bot/team) was ranked 43/44 and were picked by 549 and 1511, but were defeated in quaterfinals match 3.
1568 (us) were ranked 40 out of 44 and helped win the regional Last edited by akshar : 02-04-2006 at 20:29. |

At Midwest in 2001, #269 was dead last, seeded 31 out of 31, and went on to win the regional with the #1 alliance.

Re: Lowest seed to win a regional
At Davis team 1662 was 35 out of 40, our team saw their strengths in scouting and picked them to be on the #3 alliance...we won
Team 753 was #37 seed and was picked, and was in the runner-up alliance. |

But when it came to alliance picking we were ranked 66/74. Still a low seed none the less. Last edited by Stephen L : 02-04-2006 at 20:57. |
