2006 Lone Star Regional

I'm really sad that this weekend was my last Lone Star Regional. But it was an amazing one. The competition was a lot more heated this time around and it seemed like no one had a glaring advantage or completely dominated everything. I just wanted to here y'all's stories about this weekend, things you saw you were impressed with, etc. There were some awesome rookies there too (1884 and 1902 come to mind). So, just share your stories and thoughts.

Re: 2006 Lone Star Regional

My favorite part was the Chairman's award presentation. Although we didn't place for it, I don't think it could have gone any better. It was a funny story, too:

Three of our team did the presentation, and the other girl is much shorter than the guy and me (only reaching our shoulders short). We decided that our trio was silly looking, and, since we pride ourselves in being a fun-loving team, we stood her on a box to make her the same height and presented that way. The judges got a kick out of it, and it made us a more memorable team. It also made it a little more exciting to do, because we didn't know if it would discredit or endear us to the judges.

I'd like to say thanks to CRyptonite for lending us the battery box, too.
