Fun at Philly Social

I know I had fun at the social on Friday night at the Philly Regional. Check out this video to see what the RobotCats were doing!

Food+Magic==GOOD!!!

I had alot of fun, though I wish there was ice-breaking activities...Dogeball anyone??

Thoughts on the video:

Those CIA kids had no idea what was going on...
(I walked right by that and didn't even realize they were there! I must be blind...)

Re: Fun at Philly Social

Yep, free food + magicians = awesome! The food was actually pretty good too! That room on the 3rd floor with the food was awesome! There were some students peering down from balconies a few floors up wondering what was going on.

Re: Fun at Philly Social

I find this picture very amusing. It was taken as Mr. Bonner (pictured on the left) and I were leaving the Philly social. Three of the Firebirds were behind the glass being their normal, ridiculous selves. Bonner couldn't help but remark "observe the animals in their natural habitat: see how they behave erratically in a group of other FIRSTers." Funny and true. It was such a evening to spend on the rooftop of the Drexel hall where the social was held. I hope everyone got their fill of soft pretzels, cheese steaks, and water ice there!

Re: Fun at Philly Social

Gotta love those RoboCats! Between Philly '06 and Pitt '05 I have to say they are one of the funnest teams to have around.

The social was great, and not nearly as crowed as last year (3 floors make a difference)! I got to see the autonomous ATV one of our Alumni built. Still, I miss the Franklin Institute of 2 years ago and before! The Franklin Institute was hands down the best FIRST regional team social!

Re: Fun at Philly Social

I have to say, the magician(s) were awesome. (I only saw one, but there could have been more) I loved the informal setup. It wasn't a big stage show for a large crowd, it was a small, almost street magic show. The magician just walked up to the group of people I was talking to and started performing.
It was amazing! I was actively looking for the slight of hand and him palming different props, but he was that good. He did some amazing tricks two feet in front of me.
Bravo to the people who planned the social. Definitely bring the magician back.

P.S. - I still have the playing card with my name written on it. Thanks Dez.

Re: Fun at Philly Social

Wow, I totally missed the magician.

I'm pretty sure most of us were playing hacky sack on the outer-platformish thing.
