best offensive play

what's a great offensive play that you have seen?

not every great play is the team that made all of the balls that they held within seconds (whether shooting or dumping).

Re: best offensive play

my nomination goes out to the third final match at the SBPLI regional.

The alliance of team 358, 271, and 870 seemed to have won the match and all got on the ramp with about 10 seconds left. They sat there triumphantly, they were sure that they had won the match and thus won the regional. But then team 1468, the J Birds, runs across the entire field, sets up and makes 7 or 8 shots in a row in the center goal to tie the game to force a fourth match in the finals. One of the best plays I have ever seen during my involvement with FIRST.

Re: best offensive play

My nomination goes out to 1567, yes our 2nd round pick in FLR this year.

In the last finals match while 250 and 191 were playing Defense on us and sparx, 1567 managed to shoot in like 3 or 4 balls. Now that was not a lot of points but considering we won the match by only 6 points it was the deciding factor.

match 46 in Boston where 246 and 233 took turns unloading in the center goal (116), while being defended

Re: best offensive play

One that could of been a great play was in the elimination rounds at West Michigan. 141 was on the ramp and started shooting for the 3pt goal. They only made one or two. I think there alliance only lost by 3Pt's in that match. If they had made 3-4 more balls into the goal, then they would of won. Who knows how the rest of the regional would of went if that happened.

135 did this a lot at Boilermaker. Don't go for the ramp when you can shoot 5-6 balls and get more points. Anyhoo, I can't think of any plays that really standout to me, but there are going to be a lot from Nationals.

Re: best offensive play

At philly, when Chuck (84) would finally get their chance and empty their hopper into the lower goal, it was amazing (though quite terrifying...). But my favorite and slighty more devastating offensive play has got to be when MOE unloads their balls on the ramp. Unless somebody can get up and stop them, the match is typically over.

Thanks for the kind words CircularLogic. While the J-Birds didn't win the regional we certainly enjoyed bringing a little drama into the finals. Nothing like tieing up the game in the last few seconds to get your alliance members adrenaline pumping

Oh yeah, and get few members of the other alliance to take notice of your 'bot

You folks on 1546 have done well in 2 short years. The Long Island teams are getting progressively stronger and it looks like CHAOS has a good program in place. Hope to see you in a post season competition somewhere.
