Re: Pure Shooters -- 2006 Hall of Fame

I am only going by what i have seen.

1126 - is on the top of my list.amazing, keep it up and see ya on Einstein.
1114,1503 - only because they are little more experienced then 1680
1680 -reason above
703 - you get them on the ramp and watch out!
217 - the only way i saw to stop them was have a thing to block their shooter, amazing auto mode.
296 - GTR Radioshack award winners, great shooter
610 - don't leave them alone.
378 - a little slow but once the ball left it was a great chance of going in.
340 - Another side driven robot, hard to move and don't let them free.

254 chessy poofs were amazing from what I saw on webcast. 118 was also pretty unstopable at lone start, heck they beat us

Re: Pure Shooters -- 2006 Hall of Fame

The great teams from GTR:
- 1114 and 1503 Simply amazing.
- 217 almost as good, impossible to stop in auto.
- 1680 almost as good as the older brothers.
- 229 and 703 Don't give them the ramp.
- 296 Very nice.
- 68 Impressive in Waterloo

Re: Pure Shooters -- 2006 Hall of Fame

My list, in no particular order
254 (and I'd assume 968, but I havn't seen them)
1114, 1503, 1680
229
703
1731 (best rookies this year, imho. Pity they won't be at Championship to prove it )
343
233
121
1261

And sense this a pure shooter thread, there is absolutely no way you can't include 435! 5 balls per second! 100% accuracy if un-defended! I had the unfortunate expierience of playing them in my first Qualifying match at VCU. During auto, our defensive auto mode missed them by a few inches, allowing them to score 7 or 8 in the center during autonomous. Then we tipped during our offensive period after dumping 10 in the corner (our only tip during VCU just had to be during this match....), and our defense pretty much broke down without us. 435 was able to get 3 un-disturbed chances to open fire, resulting in an 86-34 loss for us (almost 100% of their scoring was by 435)

Ahemm...No. At Pitt they told me a story. At the end of one of their matches, they were still lined up and shooting. Their hopper gate was open, their wheel was still spinning, and as a result, after the time ended, their robot continued to score points! I was quite impressed with that one...

Re: Pure Shooters -- 2006 Hall of Fame

I never thought I would be afraid of an alliance called "Division by Chicken"... but I am.

229 and 217 , simply amazing robots. They both aren't regional champs for no reason. Had 229's shooter been working, GTR may have been a completly different regional.

25, Haven't seen anybody stop them yet.

1114, 1503, 1680 - Unbelievably accurate and with no turret I believe? So far they have been unbeatable allies when together because these guys play a mean offense

233, most teams have to plan their entire strategy against these guys when playing them. Their turret accounts for almost anything anybody can throw at them.

Their are a whole bunch more too, but these are the one's that stick out in my mind the most right now.

GO 1403!!!

Re: Pure Shooters -- 2006 Hall of Fame

254 Cheesy Poofs Or Triplets...I saw both

One at PNW and one at GTR. Thier both pretty good...I don't know which one is better frankly. Cheesy gets a lot more balls in shorter amount of time but then if they can't ramp then it's no good.

Final round...One triplet strafing in the shot position of the other triplet so it couldnt make shots. It was crazy.

Not anymore. At SVR they were being blocked from the ramp (one robot already on top) so....they sat right below the ramp and shot, with the same accuracy and speed. The defender came down to push them away, but the damage was already done.
