Re: Fluent in another language? Your help is needed!

I'm not, but if you urgently need them, my grandmother can speak Dutch (but she's in Canada), my mother used to be able to do Mandarin Chinese, my brother used to be fluent in Spanish (I don't know about now), and my grandfather can speak French and Swahili (as well as a few others), but I don't know if they'll do it...

Re: Fluent in another language? Your help is needed!

I'm fluent in Korean (I was born in Korea and lived there for the first thirteen years of my life). I still read books in Korean and if there is something I can't do, I can ask for help from my parents, so maybe I can help?
My dad is fluent in Japanese because he lived in Tokyo while he was in college, so he 'might' be able to help with Japanese.
Also, my cousins, uncle, and aunt are fluent in Mandarin(? maybe it was Cantonese), English, Korean, and are now living in Czech Republic. I still keep in contact with them so I can ask for a little help.
I also have relatives in Germany, but they are hard to talk to because they are more fluent in German than anything else.
I am also taking Spanish 4 right now, but I think that other people should be able to help more.

PM/e-mail me if you need any help with these languages... (especially Korean).

Re: Fluent in another language? Your help is needed!

A few others here offered already, but I can also help with translating to Hebrew (I took a course in translating and I translated parts of the 2006 FRC manual to Hebrew)

Re: Fluent in another language? Your help is needed!

I am conversationally fluent in spoken Dutch. I can translate written text from Dutch to English easily, but for English to Dutch I need to use a dictionary, as I can't spell at all. So, if needed, consider me available.

French, German and Latin but increasingly rusty at all 3... I could understand but not sure if I'm fluent at speaking them anymore.

Re: Fluent in another language? Your help is needed!

Fluent in German, lived there for a while & one of my majors now at Purdue. Also decent in Spanish although I won't usually admit it- it's my dad's 1st language.

I can do fairly well in Danish too.
